Mayhem - Crab Cake

Post by mayhem » Mon Mar 10, 2008 11:38 pm

Did this one in the airport yesterday on headphones while waiting for my delayed flight. Super rough mixdown and the bassline's melody is going to change a bit as I noticed some parts were not the key I thought I had heard.

Feedback please!

I disagree, quality tune, samples are good, i like the ambient feel too it, spaced out dub.

well, don't forget that this was made at the airport 8)

i kinda got the feeling that the tune is not entirely finished, tho - the dub is quite promising. as noted maori, i also like the overall mood and synths.

mayhem, if u finish this one at some point or get proper mixdown/master, would love to have a 320 copy of this crabcake
"f*ck dubstep. It's played almost exclusively by self indulgent wannabe losers"

Thanks guys. It's far from finished. Only so much I can do with out a proper ASIO driver on a 1.6ghz. I didn't want to resample anything in case I wanted to change some of the melodic parts. Expect a newer version up soon.

i can hear what you're saying about the bass being off key. i guess since it's the lower notes/frequencies you couldn't really hear em on the headphones.

any how, nice work of course.

Nice sounds, but the first and third note of the sub isn't quite right, and obviously it's still needing a bit of work, but there's loads of potential here.
