Re: Secret Ninja Radio
i'd be in on that!!!badger wrote:thinking about starting a show on www.dubstep.fm thrown by some of us lovely ninjas and i was wondering if anyone would be interested in taking part
and when do you think we should do it? any particular days or times better for people?
can't really be bothered writing any more than that so there we go
what do you reckon for ideas then? rotate DJs weekly? i mean it doesn't even have to be a weekly show... as far as i undestand (but KidLogic jump in here as you know more than i do) you pick a slot every week rather than having a regular slot. so we could have as many or as few shows as we want really
anyone interested would probably need a mix to submit to DopeLabs who runs dubstep.fm
i talked to him briefly about it but more as a personal show rather than a group one and he wants me to send a mix, so he'll probably want one off everyone involbed

so do we send them to you or dopelabs??
erm well it is on dubstep.fm so i'd have thought it would at least have to be mainly dubstep. i haven't tuned in that much but they definitely play similar garagey stuff like 2step and bassline. i'm not sure of the rules regarding music though. i probably should have looked more into thisz.u.bee wrote:yeah cant we do something loosely dub based??£10 Bag wrote:for sure. does it have to be dubstep?

i'd say make it a community style radio show, multiple djs, playing all sorts of tunes, loads of shit you wouldn't expect, and get people to submit in their own minimixes/weird sound creations that the dj could play. keep it mashed up, get everyone involved, and get an mc that knows how to make people laugh.
would be good to have it loosely dub based like zubee said, rather than straight dubstep, because there's loads of them already. it seems a bit silly to do a secret ninja hideout show and only play dubstep, when there's a dubstep part of the forum that could have its own 100% dubstep show if you get me? i just think there's alot of humour and randomness in this forum that we could try and put on air somehow

I'd be up for it - dependent on getting the internet in my new flat though I have a few mixes I can submit but have to wait a couple of weeks so I can sort everything out

yeah i agree with 10 bag and the baron, i'd like it to be much more varied, or at least have the option of being more varied. but it is on dubtep.fm so we might be limited by that fact.
but it doesn't have to be on dubstep.fm. does anyone know any other stations looking for shows? i know dubluke and von were thinking of starting one so i don't know where that was
*throws a playstation at von to get his attention*

might as well think out in the open, can't do any harm.badger wrote:erm... well i'll talk to dopelabs later if you like, or if you want you can talk to him now as i can't get on any messaging things at workz.u.bee wrote:cool!!

lol i should have thought more about this before making this thread
its a good idea by the way!
sunday would be a good day, if not, wednesday maybe?
i reckon have one dj representing the show, an mc that is local to him, but have the dj play other people's mixes and shit, rather than him doing the show 100% on vinyl, live

or we could alternate genres

this all sounds good, it's what i had in mind really. much more of a community spirit, much like the SNH really (aside from all them damn priks)£10 Bag wrote:i'd say make it a community style radio show, multiple djs, playing all sorts of tunes, loads of shit you wouldn't expect, and get people to submit in their own minimixes/weird sound creations that the dj could play. keep it mashed up, get everyone involved, and get an mc that knows how to make people laugh.
btw, is it possible to get an MC on that isn't wherever the DJ is? (if that makes sense)
