burial doesn't make you depressed to listen to!! whilst it may not be cheery music i still find it peaceful and that nice feeling of chilling with mellow tunes i can actually find quite uplifting

No seckle, you're saying that. I'm saying more than a fair share probably bought on recomendation of the tastemakers rather than listening to it themselves and deciding if they liked it and the tastemakers were seduced by amopng opther things the anonymity. The whole "I vant to be left alone" thing cleverly exploited by kode9. A visionary who understands and is connected to the system more than most could ever hope to.

But did i actually say it was the only reason or did i say it also captured a spirit that resonated with the times and that in spite of my dislike it is still an important piece of work ?

Exactly. Why does the feeling of solitude have to be depressing?

aye, being alone somewhere doesn't have to be mean being lonely, sometimes its nice just to chill somewhere with some tunes and a few cigarettes and just watch life go by, can actually bring me out of a fug rather than put me into one

If it's really that black and white for you, then I think you have bigger emotional problems than us Burial-loving emos...
i just don't like depressing music...

i'm cool with people liking burial, but people that like burial don't seem to be able to accept not everyone wants to suck his hard-to-find dick.

its just not my thing, too chilled out, too depressing, too samey samey.
from what i've heard of his albums, it sounds like he's taken 30 attempts at making the same tune...they all have the same vibe in them imo

i'm gonna stop posting in here before some militant burial fan tracks me down and makes me listen to unite again

I just don’t get how you can not like Burial..

Just pure genius… with so much overproduced and under-creative music about in alla genres of dance music Burial’s originality, creative ity and pur freshness stands out to me… I get so excited about that the music.. the most excited I’d beena bout any music since the Prodigy put out Jilted Generation….

Its got so much depth, soul, feeling and emotion its literally Untrue!

Burial is over-rated. Thread's like these hide other producers that should be getting equal respect and rep for their tunes. Silkie is equally as good as Burial!

didn't think of it like that, but good point.

i bet loadsa people ''love burial but don't like dubstep''

imo mala needs to make a full length album, would blatantly piss all over burial's

Great minds think alike, I would like the same thing.

I have to admit, most of Burial's tunes would sound great in movies, but if that happens dubstep will have even more of a big name on Burial's accord, and that means Burial will be licked out by producers of today even more

I have to admit, Burial's tunes are pretty stunning, but I just couldn't imagine them being played in raves? He's a very left-field artist and normally doesn't have a fixed tempo to his tunes. Silkie and Mala on the other hand can be listened to in every situation. I've listened to Blue Notes when I found out my Nanna died and it calmed me down, I've listened to Lean Forward in the bath  Burial's tunes haven't really got a soul purpose except for 'melody'. Without a melody he would have a simple drumline and an alright sub. I rate him for keeping his inconspicuousness though,

I would never ever put silkie next to burial, silkie is on ANOTHER LEVEL and quest aswell. There are even other producers on this forum alone that is better that burial and dont even get a look in, dont get me wrong, its not a competition or anything, but, i just quite simply think, he is weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllll over rated, take his first album away from hyper dub and put on a label thats unknown, then we will c what music can do da talking.

I am not punching burial in the face, im just simply giving my opinion on his 'GREAT' music.Lol

This debates just long!

You like him or you don't it's that simple. Personally think his tracks are deep, i feel the same for quest, silkie, mala, kode 9, martyn etc. It's all just sick music, why whinge about any of it. Just buy and listen to what you want, let everyone else deal with the rest!

Out to people getting on there high horses acting like there special cause there not affected by the burial hype or whatever though, thats long. Man was big before untrue blew up simple as.
