yeah, round here ive seen mad rewinds at dnb, house, breakbeat, dancehall, dub, techno and hip hop shows... for me its all about the crowd. i hate it when the dj rewinds a track no ones asking forfrebentos wrote:not entirly true tbh...with the dubstep scene most certainly, not sure what otehr scene features the use of a rewind...possibly dub culture although Im open to correction on that one. Been to a few dnb nights (although I generally dont listen to it that much) and iv never heard a rewing there either, nor at any of hte techno, electro, house nights I go to...Fractal wrote:rewinds are a part of club culture
rewinds...they have their place, no doubt, and if the corwd is screaming for it then it has to be done but coming from club scenes where sets flow from one tune to the next seamlessly I just cannot get into it them at all, a slight feeling of dissapointment overcoems me whenever DJ's wheel a tune in the dance.

sub.wise:.
slow down

the reason there's no reloads at techno, electro and house nights is that they play shit tunesFractal wrote:

cripes. who have you been watching?
i've seen Andy C wheel up every single tune in a 45 minute set before.
come to think of it, i saw Grooverider pull every tune in a set lasting at least an hour (he also trainwrecked almost every mix haha)
like I said, Iv only been to a few but indeed, never seen a rewind.setspeed wrote:you've never seen a rewind at a DnB night?frebentos wrote:not entirly true tbh...with the dubstep scene most certainly, not sure what otehr scene features the use of a rewind...possibly dub culture although Im open to correction on that one.
