zombie... zomby.... zombee... etc.... The list go's on. Bombers/Taggers will use what ever creativity to a name. The name is easily rinsed out, and has been used well before Zomby ever even thought of being a producer.

Boy...
I hope you're not one of these guys thats in his mid 20's, been to pen 6 times and lives for his "Art". Most of these guys are from ends. I used to see them doing their thing back when I was 14/15. They didn't really business about correct vocabulary, believe me.
I think they call themselves "Writers" now though, lmao. Nah, big up. Lots of us used to look up to them guys because they weren't only on the graffiti. They'd rob people barefaced and all sorts. But thats when your a kid and those things are big. Nowdays its a par if your still going south to move up 15 year olds for their nokia and oyster.

to answer original post:
lots of writers are into Dubstep, guess it a progression from lots of writers in UK being into Jungle, DnB so could be but tbh i doubt it.

Characters are cool but photorealism is the measure of an exceptional graff artist. Does zomby do any of that ?

zombie is a london king of bombing, the type of 'graffiti' your talking about is a whole different kettle of fish and you shouldnt try to compare the different sides of the culture, graffiti is all about letters/style and getting up.
