A couple of months after “releasing” the first Perishable Virtue by Music Machine, subtitled Secretes Musiques, we met Johann in town for a drink and naturally the topic of a consequent remix project came up. One beer led to another, and someone lent us a pen, we each grabbed a beer mat and wrote down a couple of names we’d like to have a remix from. A few mails later and the samples were in the hands of the remixers and all we had to do was wait. Now 2007 wasn’t exactly a good year for some, and various unpleasant events delayed the project several times. All of this is behind us now and the remixes are here. We chose to divide the remixes into two separate files, a sort of A-side / B-side job reminiscent of the cassette tapes and vinyl records that used to constitute the norm as physical support to musical consumption. The A-file is more “dancefloor-orientated” and the B-file more “chilled-out”. We thought it would be nice to add a new track by the man himself as an extra bonus. The entire lot is of course now available for download, for free, on our website. Enjoy the free lunch while you can…
