i'm not ashamed of it but when i say it to certain people i instantly get shoved in the poncey art student scenester bracket cos i'm white and i'm middle class... which is fucking annoying cos i got here from garage, which i got on when i was 12. i'm not at all ashamed of the music tho. the people who think it's shit are the people who subject me to MTV2 all day at work

Tinnitus is like AIDS...

This is really annoying, remember Boomnoise getting interviewed on BAPS and saying how much it pissed him off, gotta agree, calling it Dub is so misleading.drksteppa wrote:say dub
I tend to call it dubstep and when i get the usual wtf? I just say "kinda a fusion of garage, dub and jungle with a bit of techno chucked in", which i think covers it. For now, that is

i believe it's a spiel of drivel from a 12 year old. i may be wrong howeverDelendi wrote:what is this ^^^ ?
as for dubstep i love (most of) the music but i absolutely hate the term. aside from it sounding rubbish it makes everyone associate it with dub reggae, which is not what it's about. and what delendi said about the middle class white kid box is pretty annoying

i have found myself refering to it more and more as mutant garage or future garage (which also covers stepcore, bassline, niche etc)... recently i just been calling it all garage actually... less labels = more innovation imo
