England, now residing in America.

I'm a bloody immigrant taking people's jobs off them, grrrr. I've set up a support group for British ex-pats. We do gardening, knitting and wot not. All the locals get REALLY ANGRY when they see us tending the beans on the dub allotment. They want in on the action, but we tell them they can't because the British are a minority here and we need to look after each other. Then I remind them that if they were that interested in gardening, they would have taken the initiative to start their own gardening group. That shuts their backwards xenophobic mouth up quite nicely.

I like both places for differing reasons. I miss the English seasons, culture and humour.

LA is a great place for me because there is a creative buzz around that you just can't experience or appreciate whilst on holiday.

Yeah, was thinking it would be interesting to hear from you about this, I'm planning on moving across the pond in a few years, trying to get an impression of the differences (aside from my reasons for going that is).

UK is the homeland, I can't live out here in USA - all my life just for uni which is a bit sad kinda.
but english people i find are a bit more real than a lot of southern californians. well there's less plastic surgery anyway

I hated London... as far as pollution goes (back in 1999) but SoCal is pretty bad in that respect. Seattle is just too dark (clouds all the time) but I really like Cornwall (SW England) the most. The people there were really strange and friendly. I liked the food there and the pubs were super nice. When I mentioned I liked Aphex Twin everyone laughed and they said old Rich was a wacky one. He was the town nutter I suppose.....

Anyway, I liked the UK just fine. I like the US just fine. I don't care for socialism but the US government is starting to head in that direction. Oh well....I live, I die.
