hmm, are you trying something new out? That acid synth is way too fast and destroys the halfstep riddim, I think it would be more at home on a techno record...

eh?! how does a perfectly synced acidline 'destroy the halfstep riddim'? hihat parts in many half-step tracks are played in 16th notes, it's a common thing... yes, this is a bit of a new approach (although tech itch has done the blatant 303 acidline on dubstep first). and yes, this element is borrowed from techno... but so are MANY other elements common to dubstep! the beauty of this kind of music is in the variety of its influences.

@ether - the drums in this are quite nice, although it's hard to tell as it sounds like shite on myspace. the acidline is a bit too happy-sounding for me (i like darkness!)

, but definitely not too fast!

and imo the track could be underlined with some more atmos of some sort. but maybe i just can't hear that part.. also not sure on bass/subbass response.... hard to tell at that quali, got an mp3 you could post for us?

just giving an opinion, this track doesn't "swing" in the way that it should, and I blame the synth line. You don't have to lecture me about influences robo- I would prefer that synth line in thirds or fifths to follow the halfstep and create an offbeat groove, I'm not criticising it's presence...

the rest of the tune is great though!

yes true, iam trying some-thing new out really, i site of influences up on my-space, techno being one of them, your are right though, tech itch has rinsed the 303 acid thing in dnb and now dubstep,

I agree the use of certain sounds like the roland tb303 are associated with techno, this is why i used it, its a cultural refferance point like the use of The winstons 'amen' in dnb or that 'fresh' scratch sample used in hiphop tracks, i'm just borrowing from another genre to show where i come from, the 303 is used here with the intension of creating pace,

I dissagree the synth is to fast, think about how scream uses fast argpeggiatted synthlines.

I didnt want to add sounds that would feel syncopated to the rest of the groove, as this makes things appear faster.

I'll put up a link to You send it today, if anyones interested, when i sought out the arrangement and the mix down as it is a tad 'gash' at the moment.

...........and yes more atmos, my tunes are ussaully swimming in this,

I'd suggest a harder kick drum, though at this level of audio quality it's hard to tell what it's meant to sound like. As a techno lover, I dig the acid line, but I'd love to hear a little variation in it... give it more of an evolving squelchy quality!

Starting to give up listening to stuff on myspace, the player just seems to cut out every couple of seconds and then buffer for about 10 seconds before doing the same.

First 5 seconds sound alright though
