I’ve had some good ones! A couple of years ago, found a Novation K station in a second hand shop for £40… knocked him down to £30! Also got a Korg Es1 for £20. I paid £400 when they first came out. Got an MS-10 off of ebay for £140, but had to sell it a year or so later because I was well skint. got £280 for it! Also bought an ADAT and DAT machine for £30 each. Sold the DAT for £70 and the ADAT for 120!
The best one of all (I think)… Got a TR909 about 4 years ago for £501. Last time I looked on ebay, they were going for around £800-£1000. I’d never sell that though.

Missing battery cover OH NOOOOOOO!
shit? thats a bargain? what do they cost normally now? I had 1 of them years back, cost nothing cos a mate robbed it out of the school music room. fuck knows what happened to it tho. had a korg ms10 as well, didnt cost much. but aint got that anymore either. 2much of a nomad lifestyle 2b lugging hardware around anyway. monitors and cats already a ball and chain as it is...
The next one that came available on ebay went for about 350 euros theres one up there now for 350 (3fiddy) with 2 days to go..so about 450euroish. Thats still some bargain cause they aint making no more. Some synth..I can imagine staring at one in a school cupboard while hatching plans. It does classic acid and has a sub oscillator that makes the air hum in a way nothing else I own does. Those Korgs are beasts if there anything like the MS-20.Battle Gong wrote:ikeaboy wrote:Roland SH101 for 280 euro

About 12 years ago, was walking down Haight with a couple friends and saw a yard sale just off on a side street with some musical gear - went over, saw this beast of an old synth with fake woodgrain and everything. I knew nothing about analog synths at the time but thought it might be fun to play with anyway.
The seller wanted $35, and like an asshole, I tried to talk him down to $30 but he held firm.
Turned out what I'd bought was a pristine Roland Juno-60 (with a hardcase no less!)... and it taught me everything I know about synthesis. Still the most fun instrument to play that I own, including several guitars and drum machines.

I can't go off about this enough, even 12 years later. All my musician friends who play it offer to buy it off me... to this day! A local indie band that I'm friends with basically kinda got together around the thing when I loaned it to them. It's got powerful mojo and the sickest, fattest square wave tone you've ever heard - more "sweet spots" than a multiorgasmic nympho.blaze wrote:Nice
My gyal, who is learning to play piano, played 'Fur Elise' on it yesterday and it sounded like Wendy Carlos Williams. Heh!
OK. Me shut up now.

I got this MG-1 in practically brand new condition for FREE. Opened it up and the rubber shit they put on the circuit board wasn't even melted like a lot of people say happens over time. I don't think it was played at all.
Was at a party and was talking about djing and producing with this guy. He was like...you know, I got this thing, but all I can do is make siren sounds with it. So I was thinking he had some analog synth with oscillators and shit. We hooked it up to an amp and I was jamming out on it and he said I could have it. I didn't want to take it and even told him the value of an analog Moog synth, but he insisted I take it, so I did. I haven't really played with it in awhile. Fun for wobble madness.
