Maybe not all the time, but it is generally for attention, whether it is for compliments from other women, male attention or other (if there is any other!). It doesn't necessarily mean it is sexual.
"At the workplace, you shouldn’t look at problems in a traditional way. There might be better solutions. Dare to be creative," is Wang’ archlord power leveling s advice."
its possible certain birds might try to attack you if you're wearing bright colors... if that counts as attention.
then again i don't think this will actually happen at all.

humans aren't animals as we have a conscience, the same which makes us conscious of our appearance. I don't think animals really give a shit and are more likely to get eaten than to go out to their equivalent of tiger tiger on the lash in the hope of ending up in some next flat naked opening curtains to reveal an unfamiliar place
etc. you get the drift. its jus the (instinctual) way they are.
Except Peacocks and this breh who has some serious game

The point was that women generally wear more colourful clothes, wear make up and jewelery to enhance their appearance etc whereas in the animal kingdom that is more the domain of the male.
This doesn't hold true for all species, anyway.
Its interesting though- do women in most cultures wear some form of make-up? I was going to say its probably a social custom rather than an innately instinctual thing but then I suppose even in small 'uncivilised' tribes you get women wearing jewellery, paint etc... and men with tattooos, jewellery...

Sorry....I'm horribly addicted to National Geographic
different things are desirable in different tribes and cultures though - e.g footbinding for small feet in women in china, neck stretching, ear lobe stretching....Corpsey wrote:Transvestism?datura wrote:

They all fall under one category of body modification, but true that, in different places different things are found beautiful. In widely understood western culture men bulking up could be equivalent of those - more so than getting tattooed for example.dr ddd wrote:different things are desirable in different tribes and cultures though - e.g footbinding for small feet in women in china, neck stretching, ear lobe stretching....Corpsey wrote:Transvestism?datura wrote:

Yep, I was just wondering if we have some form of body modification that would be widely considered attractive. I guess muscles and boobs that is, heh.dr ddd wrote:indeed, that was my point. i dont see how liposuction and boob implants are anything other than body mod'ing either...ch3 wrote:They all fall under one category of body modification, but true that, in different places different things are found beautiful.
