i'm sure there's some rules on the amount of time they have to give the tenant official notice to move out, and 2 days seems way to short (more like 2 weeks!) and it should have been done by letter. Can prob find out for you.dr ddd wrote:there's a lesson learned here - dont ever take the words of a ditsy bird on the phone who blatantly doesnt know whats going on.... she confirmed my dates weeks ago... feel free to dismember her please.Shonky wrote:Oopsy. Do you want their offices bombing?dr ddd wrote:i just got a message from my letting agents asking what time i will have vacated my property in two days so they can inspect it.....
this is as opposed to the timeline of 3 weeks i believed i had to stop all bills, pack up my one bed flat and put it all in storage.
SHIT!!!! I'm well and truly fucked

Yeah do that, think they're under £20 p/w and you should get most of your stuff in there. Just get some van type to give you a hand, give us a call if you're stuck (not that I drive vans or lift anything heavy though)kidlogic wrote: That really sucks DDDDDD... can you get a cheap storage unit for your stuff for a few weeks? At least then you only have to worry about where you are till you move...
Hmm....

kid - that was my plan... had a guy round yesterday to quote it and booked him all up for 3 weeks time - trying to change it now...
and datura - they did give the notice two months ago... it just isnt consistent with what i was discussing with the landlady directly and she's on holiday for 2weeks- massive fuckup in communication but technically the stuff they sent me is the only legal part and it says i'm out..... hence the being screwed thing

thanx shonks - it's much appreciated.... i've got a certain amount of rights here so may be able to at least negotitiate until after the wkd... then i'd be ok. It's trying to do it without losing the deposit.Shonky wrote:Yeah do that, think they're under £20 p/w and you should get most of your stuff in there. Do they have it in writing that you're out in two days? If not then they can get fucked and you can just put the error on them. You might still be able to swing it if you know what was agreed and the vacuous office bint is a little implausibledr ddd wrote:thanx shonks - it's much appreciated.... i've got a certain amount of rights here so may be able to at least negotitiate until after the wkd... then i'd be ok. DDD, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that (notice or otherwise) you can't be evicted from a property without a court order? Or is that the French..!?

Wish I could be lucky in an irresistible to ladies and having the midas touch sort of way though. Still better than having everything burned to cinders and then having to explain to the neighbours why the contents of their flat will fit in an ashtraydr ddd wrote:this!eLBe wrote:trying to make it through the last half hour at work.

It's all good then.
Anyway, I'm currently procrastinating to the ultimate: I have an essay that is due in by 4pm on the 6th May (yes, yesterday), instead I'm posting bullshit on here whilst eating Frosties (near the bottom of the bag.. mmm, sooo much sweeeeeterrr) and am about to get up and re-arrange my room.
