FROM THE FURNACE > MALA > ADRIAN SHERWOOD > SCREAMI

Post by dj exel » Tue Apr 08, 2008 10:38 am

FIRST STOP @ CARGO, SUNDAY 25TH MAY; BANK HOLIDAY BASS FEAST

FROM THE FURNACE is going to be an historic event that celebrates the collaboration between two of the UK’s most exciting producers: ADRIAN SHERWOOD (ON-U SOUND) and MALA (DIGITAL MYSTIKZ). Both are dub pioneers and their influences are recognised globally. They will be performing new and exclusive material on the night, including work from a collaborative meeting between the two.

The event will coincide with celebrations for the 30th Anniversary of Adrian Sherwood’s legendary On-U sound imprint. Adrian has just finished producing his third album with LEE 'SCRATCH' PERRY. Over the years, Adrian has produced and worked with artists from across the board; Shane McGowan, Primal Scream, Depeche Mode, Queens of the Stone Age, Sinead O Connor, The Clash, Congo Natty, Sly and Robbie, Junior Delgado and The Roots to name a few…

FROM THE FURNACE will also mark the launch of ‘WARFARE’, the debut single from SCREAMING SOUL- a joint venture between vocalist GHETTO PRIEST (of Asian Dub Foundation, African Head Charge & On-U sound) and MC/Producer SANDMAN (formerly Doobie of Underground Alliance).

LITTLE ROY will open this historic event with a live PA of his most renound work and some new material also. Bob Marley was a fan amongst many who know his work; such reggae classics as 'Tribal War', 'Prophecy' and 'Christopher Columbus'. He was the first commercially successful artist to sing about the Rastafari movement, and ‘Bongo Nyah’ made him the best selling artist in Jamaica at that point. He is one of the most respected artists in reggae and will make an unforgettable impact on the crowd.

MALA is at the top of his game. He is the man responsible for the groundbreaking dubstep label/club night DMZ and is in high demand, traveling across the world and working with the best in the game. Mala will bring the night to a close with some devastating bass destruction, concluding a night that marks the movement from dub reggae to dubstep. Say no more.

Between the hours of 5pm and 9pm, the night will be hosted by REGGAE ROAST, founded by F.T.F. residents DJ MOODIE and DJ EXEL. Since the launch at The Grand Union in Kentish Town 6 months ago, Reggae Roast has established itself as a night to watch out for with an ever increasing following. We will also have some JAMAICAN MUNCH on an ENGLISH BBQ, so we recommend going nil by mouth for 12 hours prior to arrival.

Hosted by SEANIE T, ISHU, DADDY CHESTER
