Dubstep with old hiphopish tones

Post by boring- » Tue May 13, 2008 6:12 am

im not even sure what i mean but are there any producers doin shit along the lines of say TICAL but with some dubstep flava? some rza style dubstep would be great to hear. i feel like im giving away a secret but id rather just hear what people could pull with this sort of tone bank. ya know what i mean? hard to explain in a way. ya'll know.

i dont know if i just mean LOFI style like old gangster type sounds or what but its a vibe and a soundbank that im talkin about

:?:

Early Wu tang beats to me have a burial feel to them, i cant think off the top of my head any other artsits who make that complex but simple music which i link with Rza. Maybe some other very minimal producers without the IN YOUR FACE sounds aswell. Maybe some Immigrant Record releases or Darwqan.

If you where talking of straight up samples then i would hate to see that and feel it wouldnt work.

nice 1 man, all my samples are from vinyl, except bass, and i mainly use an mpc 2000xl, and produce hiphop so thats probably the reason haha.

Loefah is very much influenced by 80s hip hop to my ears!

some of it sounds like Soul Sonic Force played at 33rpm

I swear I heard a couple of tunes at the last DMZ that were like really hard, full of breaks with killer, efxd hip hop samples from 80s/90s hip hop. quite hard tune(s). no id what they were but they did hurt a lot!

Invinsible is sick man, loving it. All the bits on there actually, but particularly the first 3 on the player. Right up my alley.
