Which tunes use the sample "babylon shall fall"?

Post by donruba » Thu May 15, 2008 6:35 pm

I mean the sample from the film Rockers, which in it's entirety looks something like this:

"I-man serve Selassie continually no matter what the weak heart say
And I know that I and I is like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
and not even the dog that piss against the wall of Babylon shall escape this judgement
For I and I know dat all a di youth shall witness the day that babylon shall fall"

I know that it's used in "Babylonia" by 6Blocc, but I think I've heard it in at least one, maybe two other tunes, but I can't remember which ones. And "Babylonia" is the one of them I like the least, so it's really irritating!

I thought one of the others was a tune by Wadadda, but I haven't been able to find any Wadadda tune using it so now I'm just confused... :(

Not a dubstep track, but Amen Andrews' "Babylon" has it(awesome track, as well).

Popular sample from the film Rockers. I think I and I by Jack Sparrow uses it and another tune by FSTZ uses it. I have heard a few other I don't know who tho.

Thanks for the answers so far!

Didn't know about the Jack Sparrow and the FSTZ tunes but it wasn't any of these I was looking for.

The one I'm looking for is older, at probably first half of 2007, maybe even 2006.

I agree it's been overused now, but the one I'm trying to find was the first dubstep tune to use it, at least the first one I heard.

Maybe the one on Red Volume! I'll check it up.

Any more ideas?

edit: Yes, "Mass Dampers" by Ekstrak on Red Volume was definitely one of the ones I was looking for! I wonder if there is one more as I thought or if I just made that up?

to spice it up i'll throw in a 20 dollar bill for guessing where the other vocal shouts come from
