>new tracks from someone new to this sound<
i've just been discovering dubstep these last few months, it seems to be growing like mad over here in toronto.
it's inspired me so much that i've taken a stab at producing some tracks, they're available over at the new riddim.ca site:
http://www.riddim.ca/index.php?option=c ... elect&id=6
look for tracks by digitalia: "kreechur", "organol", "stay mad" and "truth rain down".
never before have i been moved by such a club-driven genre to put so much effort into so many tracks so quickly. i'd like to know what y'all think...
peace out, big ups,

Really like those sort of spaz beats in Kreechur, reminds me of some of the odder El-b stuff from way back, that low-wobbly subs really going to shake some guts in a club. Develops really well, like the industrial drones and the plucked string melody.
Organol and Stay Mad sound more standard dubstep to my ears, seems to be sort of grumpy, bass music - well produced though
The intro to Truth Rain Down's really nice, and I like the mix of the heavier sounds with the more vulnerable sounding pads, and the reverbed bass at about 3.30's got a spooky quality to it which I really liked.
I think you'll do well if you work more towards the tunes with more emotional breadth. Think a lot of folks think that heavy, evil sounds = darkness, but I think the first and the fourth tunes are far more subliminal and haunting

Hmm....

groovy... thanks for the feedback Shonky, EVS and Marsyas.
i honestly set out to make some stuff that i thought would mix into a DJ nicely, not specifically trying to make tracks that stand on their own.
still tweaking on some more stuff, but still trying to decide whether or not to pursue pure DJ-dubstep or just incorporate those influences more into my other projects. i may just end up with dub-influenced ambient vocal stuff (playing alot of bass and guitar lately) but will keep you folks posted either way.
peace out,

thanks, deeps. feedback appreciated.
i'd love to work towards a body of work that would eventually warrant a live PA of this kinda stuff.
