I use a revolutionary style of mixing.

It's called sloppy use of the crossfaderrrr.

It's so fun.

actually all the DJs on rinse do that all the time

actually way too many people do that in dubstep. it's not cool. you can't get away with it just coz the music is a bit slower!

i gotta say Caspa & Rusko's mixing is pretty bog standard usually but Girl from the Codeine City [l wis]>> Cockney Violin [caspa] on FabricLive37 is pretty sexy

Dane was at a garage night in Liquid, came on playing hip-hop and rnb and got boo'd off within 15 minutes. He wasn;t mixing either, it was a pre-recorded cd lol.

i never really understood that - i downloaded Nightlife 4 [dnb DJs don't deserve my money imo] and i thought that the tone of the set doesn't really change at all he just plays loads of extremely similar tunes.. i wasn't too impressed [although i did listen to the whole thing coz i was just marvelling at how well produced it is! seriously how the fuck do they manage it?!]

and the older mixes [from when DNB was listenable] have never impressed me either

eh.. Andy c is very formulaic... he's quick yeah, but still... seems like he was better a few years ago, circa NL2, from my experience anyway...

now Mampi!!! got damn... sick saw him on three decks proper killin shit about a year ago... was one of the best dnb sets Ive seen in a good while from a big name

Z-Trip is a badman, but more on the selection tip. As good as he is, with the crazy styles he drops he's bound to fuck up a few here and there...

Craze is unreal. Ive heard the dude's partyrockin style sets and its unbelievable. He plays EVERYTHING in one set. Flawlessly.

DJ Rectangle too... he really is that good. Ive witnessed dude scratch with his ass with one foot over the tables. Seriously. In the middle of a full set too, not a routine.

Dubstep, from who Ive seen first hand... N-Type all the way. And the whole set was jokes. Juju can kill it too...



For me, its all about the locals tbh... the really hungry bedroom cats who come out of nowhere and just slay shit like its their only chance...

my homie DVS (LA) is an amazing house dj, like really, not just sayin cause he's a mate...

i saw Machette last weekend kill it

APX1 dropped a ragga jungle, dnb, rock and hip hop set on 420 that was as flawless as it was diverse, and he played shit like Paranoid by Sabbath, Back in Black, some Metalica and the like - without a single quick mix - at least 8-16 bars each, at least

Another for the list - ODI from NYC. Saw him in the same tiny ass bar on two decks, and he reminded me just how creative a good dj can get with drops and teases. An enlightening set...
