if i had CD decks and could afford them, i would be a lot more open towards mp3s etc.

i'm a vinyl fan - not too sure about sound quality whether it's better or not, but like many vinyl junkies i am pretty obsessed by them - the whole ritual of taking em out, hearing the pop of the needle landing on the record etc.

so vinyl it is for me

edit: from the producers perspective - id much prefer them to be released on vinyl, but with mp3s released at the same time. selling mp3s isn't quite the same compared with seeing your name on a record sleeve.

Damn I have to agree. I love vinyls myself but with Serato Scratch I don't mind mp3s. Of coruse if I am able to buy a vinyl version I will definately go for that.

Vinyl for me. But everything should be available in other formats for those that don't own turntables. Releasing exclusively on vinyl will encourage piracy, purely because people without decks wanna hear all the heavy tracks that are being released.

I love me a high quality MP3, as I am Traktor user. I still buy vinyl when I can find it, and rip it to wav.

i think this poll is pretty telling.

1) listeners with a preference for mp3 want to see it released in both formats.

2) vinyl purists are stnuc.

Vinyl for depth of sound when mixing.

I own decks but not an ipod so only buy dubstep on vinyl. If I want something to listen to then i'll get onto barefiles or very occasionally rip my vinyl to CD like i did for the boxcutter album (although i ordered the cd months ago and it hasn't arrived yet!).

I think both should be available tho as the majority of non DJs can't play wax and wouldn't buy the tunes if they weren't available online.

Also the avilablility of MP3s is a good thing. With limited vinyl runs being produced it is good to know that you can always get hold of a tune you want at a later date albeit in digital form.

Do you reckon the bleep back catalogue will be available for say the next 10 years or does stuff get cleaned out eventually?
