dubstep-like MP3´s from the 90´s- maybe you like?

Post by van delta » Thu Jun 29, 2006 6:09 pm

:D hi folks!
i did some weirdo breakbeat stuff in the 90´s that was released on both vinyl and CD back then on GROOVE ATTACK PRODUCTIONS. nobody would care much about it. but as i stumbled across dubstep some time ago, i felt like posting old tracks for your listening pleasure, as the stuff is pretty close to what´s happing now. tracks are mastered for CD and 192 k. have fun...

Trip hop revivalist side to dubstep - noticed it on some stuff I've heard up here, but no-one seems old enough to remember it (or pretends not to). This is quite a lot heavier than a lot of the stuff I heard round then to be fair though. Sounds somewhere between Wall of Sound and Mo'wax to my ears
Hmm....

Yeah, i know, the beats are really oldschool, but it´s been 9 years almost... some similarities are there, but the actual stuff is more up front and bassy... thought i´d post it anyways... working on some new sound during summer, may post it later then.

Mate I'm quite old school myself, so don't worry about it. Think it's quite funny when they think they're onto a new sound and the thought "hold on doesn't that sound like ******* from back in the day" springs to mind. Bet it was a hell of a lot more effort than knockin it out in Reason too
Hmm....
