missed this thread so far...
coffee is one of my lifes total pleasures...
Its amasing how different countries and the three different growing regions (indonesia, africa and south america) produce such rich flavoursome coffees. Food with coffee brings out the best. IMO all coffee should be drank black, no sugar.
forget blends for the minute, get yourself some roast from Kenya, sip it and take a bite out of some lemon cake, or an orange muffin, the burst of citrus brought out in the coffee is like a punch in the face. to be honest most african coffees are light and have a very citrus taste to them, my favourite.
indonesian coffees are full or spice and have a nice earthy taste to them. Quite deep and to really bring out the flavour its all about tasting this shit with cinnamon.
south american coffees whilst being some of the lightest in body (kinda washy) have serious nods of nuts. its all about chomping down on Almonds and drinking some Brazilian.
I have a huge love for coffee, different kinds of coffee and coffee tasting.
If your into some serious harsh harsh shit. get a hold of a blend called French Roast. Its basically the longest roasted bean, practically black, and its got a sort of burnt taste. nice, but not for the faint hearted.
also I know this is going to sound like im some kind of coffee snob, but ive gained a heavy intolerance for instant... blurgh

the best joint i have found is flat white in soho, which was started by a kiwi mate of mine.
