It is rare to get spanish players out of Barca and Real..I'm not sure whether Iniesta is Catalan as well, if so, no chance.Diss04 wrote:dun no and good call on them appreciating him in spain, he got player of the year at barca..Donkey wrote:not in spain.Diss04 wrote:iniesta is too underrated tbh

He was the player Utd fans thought would be the Keane replacement as he has it all.darkmatterUK wrote:he is aint he, i really hope liverpool dont let him go. him and mascherano give gerrard the freedom to do what he wants, and alonso's passing skills are unrealDiss04 wrote:xabi alonso is such a sick fucking player
He is the Liverpool version of Carrick to me, very underrated, but you notice when he's out the side.

yeah pretty sure he is catalan, but what about fabregas? he leftDonkey wrote:It is rare to get spanish players out of Barca and Real..I'm not sure whether Iniesta is Catalan as well, if so, no chance.Diss04 wrote:dun no and good call on them appreciating him in spain, he got player of the year at barca..Donkey wrote:not in spain.Diss04 wrote:iniesta is too underrated tbh

There is a difference in when you can get a professional contract in Spain and England which is why the English clubs circle like vultures over the Spanish youngster offering them a lot of money and more chance of first team football. Utd did it with Pique, and Arsenal have a lad called Fran Merida also on their books who big things are hoped.Diss04 wrote:yeah pretty sure he is catalan, but what about fabregas? he leftDonkey wrote:It is rare to get spanish players out of Barca and Real..I'm not sure whether Iniesta is Catalan as well, if so, no chance.Diss04 wrote:dun no and good call on them appreciating him in spain, he got player of the year at barca..Donkey wrote:not in spain.Diss04 wrote:iniesta is too underrated tbh

So at that point it is more money, also there were very few locally produced players who were getting first team chances, really Puyol and Xavi were the only ones at that time, and maybe Oleager.
That's changed a bit under Rijkaard with a number being given a chance and also the new manager seems to be wanting a greater spanish influence on the team.

what are u lot on about????? ive seen most games, really dont think any of them were unwatchable cos of diving?? ofcourse theres players being gay on the pitch but i blame it more on the super high stakes in money and pressure in modern football as compared to the old days.
And "more former players should get involved" ?!? Look at the coaches of most national teams Van Basten, Hiddink, Donadoni etc etc theres plenty former players in todays football. (also loads in the premier league) + you dont even know what platini is in charge of?!
And about the old days, yes players got up and went ahead with the game, there were also plenty of broken backs, arms, legs and necks, im not sure if i'd enjoy the game more seeing someone break something on a regular basis?
