I have to say that Joe Nice at Smart bar was one of the best venues so far in Chicago for dubstep.. lots of room, good sound, energy etc.
Really curious to see the turnout though. Joe nice was 8 bucks and there was about 50 people there. Either way i personally would pay the 15 dollars because there really is no experience like hearing and feeling this music, and since i don't live in London i'll take the trip.
Actually there was 130+ paid for the night.. don't let the size of that spot fool you =) Big things next Saturday... can't wait for the Kode 9 experience.
aight i was WAY off in that calculation

$15 gets me 5 beers
or a shot and a lap dance?
Lets start dubstep nights at the Admiral Theater... get them ladiez skanking on that pole.
Sono is a club in a lounge room... The only time it feels loungey to me is when no one is there... last time I was there is got a little crazy...
see pic here
uhm.
$15 gets me about 3 beers on a good night...
and AdmiralStep sounds crazy.
almost as crazy as the night that picture was taken Dali...

The flyer says phaded and chris widman (who I thought played techno?).
Edit: Nvm. From the Abstract Science site: "chris widman is a DJ that defies easy classification."

I am guessing...
Chris will play first and Phaded will open for Kode 9...
Not sure what genre Chris will be playing...

Probably a blend of Dubstep and Techno as he usually does... and he's one of the few that actually pulls it off proper

. He's hands down one of the most versitile DJ's in Chicago's scene, and manages to unearth fantastic tunes that get slept on by alot of cats who are content feeding off whatevers in the bin at the record store or off of the top sellers list on online shops.
Big times this weekend... can't wait!

Do you guys think this event will sell out?
I'm currently planning on getting off of work at 8pm and driving up there by 10 to get door price, unless its recommended to buy advanced..
