I just wanted to get to know everyone in the forum. Everyone is at different stages. Some people are Vets. lol. Some are part of the new generation....blah blah.

Basically, lets cut the crap. Whats the best dubstep tune you ever heard simple.........the one that did it or you. The reason your a forum member. lol. DJ's I expect you to reply with those exclusive tunes...

I'll go first - At the mo my Behringer MS40's are pumping out "Skream - Calous" for inspiration. But I've been producing dubstep on & off since the days of Wiley - 'Ground Zero', which was grimey dubstep. This Summer I'm back on it properly....

I need more inspiration tho.......hold tight Hatcha.

(p.s. I'm not DJ CHARMZY, lol.)

I come from a town where UKG and 2-step was king....I played electro and breakbeat stuff back then. Slowly started picking up on the darker instrumental stuff to mix into my sets and went from there...

i liked how it pushed the boundries.....most people (unlike drifterman) cannot except that there are shite loads of different styles of dubstep...

i first got hooked listenin 2 some dirrrrty tunage....it jus made me feel so fuckin haaaaaaappy! lol now all i create is dirtyness because those are the sorts that really hype up the scene....

in my exprerience at raves, proper dubby, slow step tunes actuallu wind down a rave, or either kill it....

calous is a fuckin banger and thats just fuckin hype all round....biiig tuuune!

I was happily getting on with my day, working at that time in the DnB Arena record shop in Sheffield. I'm a junglist and never stopped playing jungle. Since the late 90s I had become increasingly less passionate about DnB, I didn't like the way the sound had gone.
This particular day, early in 2005, I was alone in the shop. I'd listened to all the new release and it was all pretty shit, sorry, I wasn't feeling any of it.
Rooting around by the CD player I found a copied CD with the words 'Youngsta & Task' and 'Rinse FM' scrawled accross it.
I had a vague awareness of the station but had never heard of the artists. I stuck it in thinking it was garage and with pretty low expectations.
By the end of the day I had repeated the CD about 6 times (6 power hours).
I took it home with me and immediately set about distributing the set to as many people I could.
The first tune was Monsoon rmx, the second was Goat Stare, the third was 28 Gramms. I knew there was no looking back!
Some of my early sets in Sheff were met with less than enthusiasm but then suddenly, everyone clicked.

I first got hooked from Vex'd Degenerate album...also way into Dizzy Rascal's boy in da corner...then I started listening to the Dubstep Allstars mixes and then...now my favorite producers are Ale Fillman, Solace, UltraBlack and Trillbass

i only really got into it last year, started checking out the stuff on dubplate and other sites, probably the first tune i heard was Midnight request line!

been DJ'ing it for a few months now

I would say I'm pretty new to dubstep really, I have only just started mixing with it anyway, I blame 2562, Appleblim, Martyn and anyone on the Dubstep Allstars Vol.06 for me buying 12"s of dubstep.

I think my ears really pricked up to the sound after hearing so much about some dude called Burial, you might have heard about him some place. I was aware of the sound before this bu it all kind of passed me by.

Saying that I have been DJing for about 8 years and was into break beat big time the dark kinda stuff like Meat Katie and other stuff like Plump DJ's. I got into mixing a bit of 2-step from the likes of MJ Cole, Wookie into break beat sets. Stanton Worriors where a big part of that sound for me and I even rocked out some Zed Bias.

I then got distracted and started playing more electro, techno, minimal and house. Now I would also like to put dubstep in my DJ canon as it fuckin kills right now.

I'm gona put up my first dubstep mix on the mix forum a bit later when I have uploaded it all propily.

i kinda found dubstep by accident, i heard a dj opening for Amon Tobin playing this rediculous music with massive basslines and me and my friend thought it was just sick. the problem was neither of us had any idea what kind of music it was.

fast forward a few months. i stumble upon goth-trad, Back To Chill is the first song i can remember listening to and discovering its this stuff called "dubstep". and then a few months late i also hear "The Clown" on his myspace (mustve been a year ago now.)

so Back To Chill, along with Action Dread/Cockney Flute were the first records i ever bought.

i started off as a big drum and bass fan, mainly into pendulum
the first dubstep tune i ever heard was a remix by them.
i have to say it changed the way i listened to music!

incidentally are there any other decent dubstep artists out there
i could be listening to?

word on the Vex'd -> I'd heard some dubstep around and been digging it but didn't know where to start, when I heard Lion and Gunman by Vex'd shit was all over.

Lion's prob still one of if not my fav dubstep tune.

im quite new here still.

id say its been about a bit more than a year for me. wen i herd some skream bits...

0800 especially, that kinda got me in but i was lost for a while lol. i used to look out for the more dub stuff, listened to a lot of bug things, bits of dmz....

by the time night had dropped i was kinda into it, i reckon THE tune that did it for me was spongebob.

i wasnt a dub head till that tune still.
