Kode9 funky
Circle show on Rinse is like my favourite thing in the world.
Geeneus 'Yellowtail' is my tune of the year already.
I want to see 9 dressed up. 9 IN SHOES>>>>DRINKING CHAMPAGNE>>>>PLAYIN FUNKY AT THE END>>>>>>>>
??!!!!!
I wish they would all hurry up and come back from Napa though. Me and Subeena went to this funky thing a couple of weeks ago and there were 3 people there.

"At the workplace, you shouldn’t look at problems in a traditional way. There might be better solutions. Dare to be creative," is Wang’ archlord power leveling s advice."
marcus nasty plays some good funky stuff, generally a bit further away from the standard us funky stuff and a bit closer to the newer london sound. although i still struggle with the fact that it's called, and the producers refer to it as 'funky' or 'funky house'. it sounds like soca or kwaito crossed with grime.

Its basically Tribal House but with the Funky House influence's aswell so the producers here call it just "Funky" because its not in, really, the Funky House or Tribal House categoriesselrahc wrote:marcus nasty plays some good funky stuff, generally a bit further away from the standard us funky stuff and a bit closer to the newer london sound. although i still struggle with the fact that it's called, and the producers refer to it as 'funky' or 'funky house'. it sounds like soca or kwaito crossed with grime.
Plus the UK "Urban" scene seem to have a nack for always renaming scenes and shit like all this "Wonky" stuff they're trying to claim isn't "Funky"
I think same would be said to producers who produce music with no real content...staypuft wrote:but is left for your brain to fill in the gaps.Corpsey wrote:What I like about some of this stuff is that it's got that rawness to it that you have in grime, that you used to have in dubstep where it feels like a lot more could happen...
But back to the topic: That 1extra-mix got some Musical Mob - Pulse X funky remix, though it seems to go with this name:
Post Room Remix – Little Silver (Marcus Nasty Special)
Let's see if this is going to be a trend to remix old 8bars
yeha fair enuff. I've got old mystikz and horsepower in mind I guess (super syncopated lo-fi weird synth action).. something more abstract was being communicated with that stuff.gremino wrote:I think same would be said to producers who produce music with no real content...staypuft wrote:but is left for your brain to fill in the gaps.Corpsey wrote:What I like about some of this stuff is that it's got that rawness to it that you have in grime, that you used to have in dubstep where it feels like a lot more could happen...
Am I the only one who thinks this mix is really not very good in terms of a mix? Wonder if it is ever meant to be mixed?
It is a good selection still and huge respect to 9 for the different direction he is exploring- think it is important DJs and Produers especially explore different types of music to aid their own work and style.

There are loads of nights happening if you look on the DJs who you rate myspaces you'll find flyers galore. They're good at self promotion for sure.
Yes they are shoes, no denim, no trainers that is part of the appeal in a way - back to champagne garage days.
Though the afterarty/private party scene is more talked about. Circle parties.
I'd recommend the Rinse @ The End night and other nights mixing the styles (like Prancehall booking Marcus Nasty next to Oneman etc. at visions)

Can anyone reccomend any good nights that play that sort of stuff ?
Are they all shirts and shoes / prada trainers lol ?
