Uh oh, we need to add an upload progress bar, in the mean time some patience is needed when uploading - it may look like nothing's happening but it is!

How long did you leave it for? Was there an error message? Let us know and we can get you going :)
I managed to upload a mix completely. I was going to point out the lack of a progress bar actually :P Tis a bit of a prob but im sure you'll sort it.
Other points, dunno what everyone else thought, but imo the writing and stuff is just that little bit too big. Im liking the big vibe, shits gangster. But it felt like I was using the special needs lab at college...but without Gary making terrific farting noises through the cage.

Ehm, what else...The no tracklisting thing is another problem! But thats on the way im figuring.

Sounds good, although Dubstep is not listed as a genre...

uploaded my mix a week or two ago, that went flawlessly, did my tracklist for it today, didnt really have any "problems", but theres gotta be an easier way to enter tracklists, i guess i dont mind doing it, but it was rather time consuming.

but dont get me wrong, i appreciate a free mix hosting site, very much.

Glad you guys are feeling it :D

As for tracklists - yeh it's a pain, we chose this method (as opposed to having 1 big box) to keep all the data separated and organised in a database.. 1 advantage of this is the ability to easily add a 'buy this track' link underneath each track (like we've done with the recent sunsoundlive tracklists here > clicky<). So hopefully the pain'll be worth it if it encourages traffic to music downloads stores.

This way of doing it could easily fall flat on it's arse! Thanks for the feedback though.. We may have to go back to the drawing board but hopefully the thinking behind the method will justify it. If someone catches a track they like, the link to buy is right there.

Yeh agreed, we need to break up the page a little - the forum links aren't major and could probably do with being given a back seat.. any suggestions let us know, cheers dude.

Hey man,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.. our hosts are messing us around - basically our site has been caining their bandwidth and processor so they've blocked up from uploading :(

We can still get mixes up if you upload them at sendspace/megaupload and send us the url - defeats the point but at least your mix will be up with us forever and will have a good home :)

Let us know if this is an option for you..

Cheers

Hey guys.. the site is down temporarily while we find a more reliable host. The feedback has all been great, which resulted in a silly amount of traffic and our hosting company put us on download-lockdown! :(

So bear with us while we get things up again - should be a week or so..

Any questions to support@mixeeba.com.

Ta!

Hello all

A while back we launched the site and now mixeeba.com is back BUT we've scrapped allowing you to upload directly to our server.. this was cos:
1. Uploads weren't 100% reliable, some dropped, timed out etc
2. We couldn't do the upload progress bar as it would hammer the server during upload...
3. Uploads were killing downloads as the server was too busy to put out mixes when stuff was coming in.

So how does mixeeba work now then?
You upload to one of the free, temporary sites (sendspace etc) tell us where it is (when you're adding all your mix info, like before) and we'll download and upload it ourselves...

Why should I bother if my mix is already online?
1. With us your mix is online permanently (or until you decide to delete it), regardless of how many downloads it gets.
2. We have a facebook app (in the making) so you can show off your mixes on your facebook profile.
3. You can add info to your mix, such as a tracklist as well as links to your facebook and myspace pages.
4. The download chart. See how your mixes fair up compared to the whole host of other similar mixes on mixeeba... Did your forum pimping work?
5. Mixeeba is the home for mixes.

So what are your first impressions? We thought that most people are used to uploading to sendspace/megaupload, so carry on doing that, let us know about it and we'll host it permanently for you. This also allows us to host .mp3, .wav, .rar & .zip up to 700MB (the size of a CD)...

There's whole lot more info on the faqs > http://www.mixeeba.com/help/

Let us know what you think guys :)

Any questions here or to support@mixeeba.com
