Peak oil running out, military build ups, no more good weed, and no more trucks supplying the supermarkets.....

But even my mum is fretting over the situation we face. She is adamant that the world is going to change massively within the next few years...
She's big into the Transition Town movement. ----> http://www.transitiontowns.org/ & http://totnes.transitionnetwork.org/
Anybody else involved with this yet?

I went to school in Savannah, Georgia - and it was designed with a major town square ever other block so that in the event of crisis - war/pirates/droughts/sickness - etc. the people of each square would close off and be sustainable from the community garden and well etc. The center of the city was a huge park and arboretium called Forsyth where they imported plants, trees, and crops for cultivation - it was like the centralized point from which all the squares and the entire south of the USA during antebellum times - sourced their plantings..

I wish the new administration would come back to this level of practical thinking instead of lining their own pockets.
