Rolling GDKR Thread: Torrents, do you use them?

Post by ashley » Mon Aug 11, 2008 9:56 am

I havent done self promotion on here for a while and I am looking into ways to increase the usability of one of my websites (GotDarker) so I figured I would make a rolling thread for our network.

GotDarker.com currently going under an extensive design change to match GetDarker.com and we are thinking of what features we can implement.

With GotDarker we have around 1,200 files uploaded to our system by our users. At the moment we only support HTTP downloads but we are looking to start allowing people to download using their favourite torrent clients.

Just a few questions..

Do you download alot of mixes regulary?
Do you use Torrents?
What size approximately is your "mixes" folder?
Would you be willing to keep torrents open after you have downloaded?

The main seed will obviously be our server and we can introduce a second server for the most popular files to ensure network stability and increasing your download speeds.

Or should we just not over complicate things and only provide torrent options for the most popular files?

Torrents could mean faster speeds though?

But we arent overloaded anyways and pass out over 2.8tb a week anyways.
