Post by loki-dubz! » Wed Aug 13, 2008 9:55 pm

Thanks, LoKi

There was one pretty natural sounding on the internet, but I can't remember what it was.
It contained English and American accents.

is it possible to run of the samplers in Reason thru a Comb Filter?

I know Thor has a comb filter but I have no idea how or if it is possible to run one of the samplers thru it.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

For Reason, have you tried running the vocals form the NNXT to the subtractor synth, when you press a note on the subtractor, it kinda de-tunes the vocal.

I never used the NNXT nope:)
I have never done any rewiring either:)

I have been playing around with the nn19 and just trying to learn the Subtractor (front).

Cant wait to get home and see what I can when I flip the units and rewire.

Thanks!

Thanks for the help guys, I sorted it now there is one built in to osx which does the trick perfect. On the subject of Reason, is it worth purchasing if you already own Logic, in other words is Logic missing anything reason can provide.

Thanks, LoKi

I dont use logic but from what I have heard, nope.

I think you get a good understanding of drum machines, synths and samplers using Reason tho. Good to know how to rack things up and wire them etc.

oh yeah and have a look for a program called cakehole. it uses the apple built in soundcard synth voices and outputs to aiff. its a standalone app and you type in text and it will speak 2 u, sort of like simpletext on OS9.....the voices r seriously rinsed tho...try gettin a mic and record some speech, and put it through a phaser/ring mod and turn the lfo rate up full , then bring the mix to about 40% and it should sound pretty robotic,.,..,..otherwise a comb filter can work but will sound less 'robotic'...if u know wat i mean.....! i dunno....thats what i do anyway....

Reason is shite, the majority of the money your spending on it is going towards the synths that are bundled with it. And each and every one of those synths is no where near the quality of their third party rivals.

Pro Tools > All DAW's

...and i'm getting my filthy hands on it in a months time
