for all one producer/label mixes, then yup. I can kinda see both sides of the argument for this one tbh. At first I thought it was weird as well.

strictly speaking, it's not legal to upload mixes at all if they feature records which are covered under copyright control and you haven't paid arranged the relevant licensing. However, in underground music this is usually overlooked, since any 'losses' made by artists/labels are negligible, and the mixes are recorded/uploaded for 'promotional' purposes and therefore no direct profits are made.


All one-artist/label mixes are frowned upon because we feel they can discourage people from buying the tunes, and also because it might scupper the label/artist's opportunity to sell a mix download/CD in the future.

Hope that makes sense, we don't create/enforce rules like this just for fun, it's to protect/respect the rights of the artists which make up the scene.


Personally, I don't think mixes of stuff like Horsepower would ever really affect sales much (as the records are rare and therefore v v expensive), so I wouldn't have a problem myself if someone did an all Horsepower mix, unless HP/Tempa complained to us...

not all the horsepower i own, but def more than enough

out of curiosity are older tempa and horsepower plates that rare now? if so may have to go thru my old garage and 2step collection
