DIY Subs

Post by i978 » Wed Jul 26, 2006 12:53 pm

Lately I’ve been playing with the idea of building my own sub. I’ve been on http://www.diysubwoofers.org which seems to have all the info I need and I know a couple of carpenters who are willing to lend me some tools and help out a bit. Most of the projects on the net seem to use NHT 1259 or Adire Audio Shiva drivers - they seem pretty good to me. Problem: I can’t find anywhere in the UK that sells them. Anyone know where I can get them? Can anyone recommend another good driver?

Any other advice/pointers would be great.

Thnx for the link.

I've also come across http://www.allangordon.co.uk/Drivers/Co ... -Units.htm who seems to be a bit cheaper for some drivers. Still can't find those NHT's tho.

Anyone know a site that gives info on subs/systems from scratch?

It'd be nice to know how to go about building something but I'm not clued up at all.

Basic advice on putting a rig together and some plans, pretty useful. I'm just waiting for a mate to put the finnishing touches to a few boxes. They look solid as fook! No subs as such though but some seriously bassy bins.
