It was between 11 and 14 for me...

I would like to speak on all of them though...

16,2,19 - beautiful completely lovely work..perfect slow jams..

17 - really, really strong - garage? Doesn't matter - tight track.

18,7,12,6,5 - All 5 of these were nicely produced and heavy - 6 and 5 although technically, formulaically were perfect for mixing..slightly generic..would not hesitate to play any of these..

3 - glitchcore, very good IDM. ALGEBRAP!

10,8- love them, for an early morning set..very ambient.

1 - I love the break but my head got too much of those chiming synths..if you could have dropped them and switched up more you would have rated high because the beat was so strong..

9 - nice beat but repeatative..

4,13,15 - sounded unfinished and that is a shame because 13 had the most well developed base line carried tune and 15..

15 - to me, 15 had the most interesting sound atmospherically - it was dark and abstract and went into this nice upbeat, but then it just ended - I could have listened to least 3 more movements..I was very interested in hearing that all the way through.

this was fun - very difficult choices - I had to divide them into genres just to determine what I was judging...all of these have serious potential. This is why I listen.

Nice one Bright Maroon! It's always great to see people take the time to comment honestly and critique these tunes, I'm sure all the artists appreciate it greatly.

Respect to you. 8)

Very much so... : )

#3's got my vote. Big up mash-up freak!

I liked the atmosphere of #8
Love the abstract feel of #10
#12 has a very interesting industrial atmosphere and some great bassline & synth melodies.
#13 has a nice bassline, I just regret the repetitive hi-hat
#14 is indeed very well constructed. Very catchy.
#16 has a very trippy ambient feel

Big up all others, although the tunes are not really my style there's definitely some nice effort put into them.

I wish I had completed mine on time.

here's my comments on the ones that i was feeling enough to write a paragraph about. no offence to the others, but some i didn't get enough of a feeling (good or bad) to comment on.

#2 nice vibes, sounds well made, but the hat panned slightly to the left started annoying me after a few minutes

#3 too mashed up for me. headfuck. well made but not music in my opinion

#4 weird, lots of different vibes

#5 feasible weasel...this was you wasn't it? own up. i might vote for this one because its sweet. no need to take music too seriously!

#6 didn't expect this grimeyness after the mellow intro. its ok, sounds half finished though

#7 i liked the reggae vibes, but i thought the evilness spoilt the niceness that the reggae bit brought. i'd have preferred this to stay reggae.

#9 SICK tune. real nice one drop beat. proper skanking tune. i'd buy this on wax possibly. maybe a bit bare but still got the groove!

#12 this tune is pretty sick. i could see this making people fall over in a dance. respect to the producer. i thought it was never going to kick off, then the fucked up 8 bit sounding synth came in. surely this isn't 100% samples though?

#13 this has got to be Djake. nice minimal beat, hummable bassline. i'd prefer it without the hi-hat, which seems a bit pointless to me, but nice groove nonetheless. a reggae chop would've fitted in nicely imo, but its still a nice beat.

#14 sounds like five tunes mashed up together. good ideas, but maybe gets a bit cluttered in parts. still a bit of a beauty, i'm liking the guitar sounding lead bit. sounds really well made, and i like the way it keeps changing.

#17 sick groove on the beat. the tune doesn't seem to go anywhere though, and its not memorable enough for me to rate highly. if it had a funny or memorable bassline, it'd be a proper stonker of a tune, but as it is, its only the drums that i'm loving. different bassline would = phat tune imo.

#19 proper zombie tune. if i was dead, i would walk to this. not my kind of music, bit mellow and (sorry) boring for me.

i think i'm gonna vote for #13 cos i reckon its a kernow riddim, and the world needs more of them.

lol that was my track. I just felt like instead of taking ages to make a dubstep track I would mash it up and make a crazy glitch track. 45 minutes spent on composing and 30 spent on filtering and EQ'ing the final mix.

The fact that it was 7am and I was coming down off a few hits of strong acid may have had something to do with the mix down. lol

I suppose it's my own fault for not stressing the importance of people remaining anonymous for this contest, due to not wanting these things to turn into a giant popularity contest.

But, I think it's safe enough now considering the circumstances....

Thanks man. I promise it was all samples. A lot can be done with a simple beep and some loop points. I wish I'd had more time to devote to this though. It was interesting to have to use samples that someone else chose instead of synths and vsti's. I'm looking forward to round 6.

Props to Wascal. That tune was sickness. I fully intended to vote for my own track, but after hearing #14, I just couldn't do it with a clean conscience. Very well done.

If anyone wants a 320 of my entry, let me know, and I'll upload it.
