edit: it was going to be a dubstep track originally but the wobble just didnt like being at 140bpm. still got some dubstep influences though, hence why i thought id upload it here.

I gave it a listen last night, just forgot to give you the feedback.
But here we go:
Right well if i must be completly honest this doesn't sound like how DnB should be at all. However the eastern samples you have used would work really well in a proper dubstep tune. I know you said that you've tried it and it doesn't sound right slowed down but maybe just change some samples around, add in some new ones etc. Definatly try turning this into a piece of dubstep though, has potential!

I like it (via cheap headphones). I'll try it mixed in and see how it works. Maybe it's a bit too clean sounding, but I haven't heard it LOUD yet. Keep on dubbing! I certainly like your open approach to music. I can't seem to produce anything orthodox either. Listen to "No more words I'm drowning" at http://www.myspace.com/jockolatex ... that's one of my attempts at dubstep. Hasta luego, amigo.
Ah yes i can totally see where you're coming from here, and it's a very good thing indeed.d1rt1989 wrote:i like to mix up styles to avoid sounding cookie cutter.
You asked me if i liked the tune for what it is, and how it is sounding at the moment i'd say not really, but that's because i think it sounds a bit out of tune for DnB. But i do like the structure of this and your ideas. Keep working though
The best drum n bass i've ever heard has some kind of serious emotional message to it. I get no emotion from your tune. It sounds like you are just messing with the formula and experimenting with the arrangement of noises that have little or no real meaning or emotional attachement to you, keep practicing. I suspect you have not revealed your true skills.
If you want to make the kind of drum n bass that has everyones hands in the air, the music has got to have some kind of soul. Remember, music is one of the most pure forms of human expression. It speaks to soul of almost everything it means to be human, to make and listen to music. Its one of the last bastions of human expression. SO, make music that means something to you. Write about a thing that makes you tick or make music about the thing that pisses you off the most. THAT is a tune I want to hear.
