wow. that was the most spectacular evening of completely shite luck for me and monkey.
several run-ins with semis (although thankfully not run OVER), my laptop deciding to throw an utter bitch fit that took me and monkey over an hour and a half to solve, and getting back to monkey's car to find the window busted out and his dashboard in tatters (sans stereo head unit) with a distinct lack of a subwoofer as well.
oh, and a parking ticket. for parking in a "residential area" that had no signs saying anything resembling that. isn't EVERYTHING in chicago a residential area, for fuck's sake? if you can't park there, where the fuck CAN you park?
thankfully we made it back in one piece, although my back feels like an elephant walked on it.
quadratic and karl meier fucking killed it (although i couldn't pay as much attention as i would have liked due to laptop fixin'). distance was pretty rad too, although the beginning (which i loved) seemed to be a little too minimal/mellow for a town that's been battered by some seriously heavy shit lately. he picked it up through the middle and by the end i was just too tired to stand up. phaded battered whomever was left (i think there was a space battle going on in his laptop).
thanks to everyone who checked out my set. i was really glad we finally fixed the laptop issues so i could play some of the killer new tunes i picked up lately. recordings should be up soonish (as soon as monkey deals with the detritus in his car).

parked on grace just around the corner. i looked and didn't see one sign that said we couldn't park there. i guess we are just expected to magically know. fuck them.jeekoos wrote:damn!sapphic_beats wrote:wow. that was the most spectacular evening of completely shite luck for me and monkey.

Wow, I got a parking ticket on grace as well last night. That's really shitty about the theft, fucking wrong. In the end fuck cars i say. Distances set was definitely good, but in a more personal listening experience way ( @ home, on the train..), not so much of the jump off the wall bangers played in this last month as you say.
Fun night for sure

I'd rather hear that than a night of bangers for a change.Reptile wrote:Distances set was definitely good, but in a more personal listening experience way ( @ home, on the train..), not so much of the jump off the wall bangers played in this last month as you say.
Good luck with the parking tickets.
Indeed it is, especially in america..sapphic_beats wrote:Well, kinda difficult to get from Indianapolis to Chicago without one, innit?Reptile wrote:In the end fuck cars i say.
I've just been vexed since last winter when i went over a median twice slipping on ice and ended up having top fix my bottom end totaling over 500 dollars, plus an outrageous tow bill where they charged me $250
hence the fuck cars statement, hahaha.

i actually wholeheartedly agree with the statement in all reality. i would LOVE LOVE LOVE some mass transit that worked worth a damn for city to city stuff.Reptile wrote:Indeed it is, especially in america..sapphic_beats wrote:Well, kinda difficult to get from Indianapolis to Chicago without one, innit?Reptile wrote:In the end fuck cars i say.

that one was "fallen" on boka.Reptile wrote:One really good track that stuck out in my mind was the last one Distance laid out and then Phaded took over, (or it could have been the first track Phaded played?). It was really ethereal, dark and had a female chanting voice over if i remember correctly. I wish i knew what it was.

I just youtubed it and i recognized the Vex'd remix.. sooo good
Not to take away from how shitty your luck was or anything, but I appreciate the new mix in my Ipod. And frankly, I'm a little disappointed that you are thinking of yourself and your own selfish needs, such as car windows and food and pain killers and shit. Shame on you.
You should be fulfilling our selfish wants and desires for tunes and mixes.
Seriously though, great mix. Sorry to hear about your run-in with Chicago though. That fucking city sucks.
