A Dubstep and Grime Collaboration is need
I've been digging out some old Sticky beats and similar that are on the cusp of garage and grime, I think they go really well with the modern more spacey 2-steppy stuff.

agree, also jammer - breakdown and as u stated earlier, morgue...spiderman wrote:i found a lot of lewi white old grime beats had the darkness and bass on point.
cant remember if they had the 2 steppy structure to em.
lewi white's tunes were all different some alf step some skip...
obviously what by wonder..
davinche had some decent banger's "last night" & "eyes on you" and in terms of production i've got to say he was one of the most original producers in the scene, when it was good (east connection, roll deep, wolfpak etc..)
If you actually listen carefully to some of Slimzee's 2002-2003 sets you will hear a lot of half step in some of the beats he played...he must of had some dubplates that i will sadly never hear again (for example the half step tune that had the girls voice sayin "bumbaclart selecta" that shit was deep dark grime) Slimzos was the godfather man...the 1'aways he had from Alias, Jon E Cash & Sticky (the pacman 1, fuck ME) were OFF...need to find those tapes!
there's tons of dubstep and grime collaborations!
Loefah's mix of Nasty Crew was the first, but there's all of kode9's mixes from about 05, most visibly Dubstep Allstars 3. There's also Kode's mix of Skeng and all of The Bug's work with Killa P and Flowdan.
More recently grime MCs have been jumping on "Night" as well as Benga beats like "Crunked Up". Goodz smashed a Coki classic on his "Axiom EP". Jammer vocaled a Quest tune on the Nekkle Camp album.
There's lots of dubstep/wonky/grime mixed together on our XLR8R podcast mix, where you'll find our collaboration with Goodz. Our album has a track with Trim on it.
And we'll be unveiling a new remix by me of a tune by Geeneus, Riko, Wiley and Breeze tomorrow night on our Rinse show...

I like the combination of the two I think they work really well together
I love the raw energy and power of grime mixed with the sometimes dreamy styles of dubstep.
The juxtaposition can add some serrious tension to the dance floor

I'd be well up for hearing more well deployed grime style vox on dubstep tunes - loads of tunes really benefit from having that bit of ruffness and also from having a bit of bumpy doublespeed rhythm adding hype over the top of a slower beat. Plus it's another texture and another element and for my money more diversity in dubstep is never a bad thing.
