Anyone on here go FrenchTek?

Post by serox » Fri Sep 05, 2008 1:19 pm

Anyone on here go FrenchTek? or any Teknivals?

I will be going out again just seeing if any other Dubstep DJs are into that sort of rave.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

In Cork? I lived in Ireland for 4 yrs and had some mates who tried to put on partys in Dublin. I say try because they didnt really have what I would call a rig and the cops would bust it all the time.

There is some proper party's going on every week in London, loads of em.

Teks are a laugh, 5 days of madness. Some serious link ups there.

You mean 'scumtek'

Dont bother, its shit. 3 years ago there was about 30 systems I guess but its gone down hill and this year was a big fail.

You wont get anymore real ones in the UK tbh. The French one is massive and hardcore.

Also organized a lot of free festivals around my hometown with some friends with their vans and sounds, touring with a bus also around Romania. LOVE THAT.

i went to a teknival in wales a few years back with dmt and it was sick. dmt is a massive rig, which unfortunately ended up being set up right next to our van that we were sleeping in lol... yeah 3 days of virtually no sleep wasn't great

a gabba rig called prank from bristol were there too and were playing the best gabba i've ever heard, i didn't even realise it was gabba for ages

I had the same problem at Frenchtek:( I woke up in the morning to see 3 new systems setup right next to us. When I was trying to sleep I could hear 6 different records at the same time and this went on for 4 days trying to sleep.

Iv played Gabber on Prank a couple of times too when they have visited London, nice guys.

According to the wiki relating to Teknivals, in france the free party scene has been grouped together with their terrorism bill?!?

Is that the same in the uk?

Teknival is an illegal Festival/rave kind of thing, free.

In France there are two. One that is illegal and the other that the gov allow. Sound systems from all over Europe go to it and some of the link ups are bigger than any system you would see in a club.

Yes. The police can now use the terrorism shit even if your at a rave in this country. A friend got arrested under the terrorism act for having a van with speakers at a rave.

i go to teknival every summer. been to a few NY's eve ones as well. gutted i missed Larzac in 2004 coz that was the last fat one in france (60k people). now with sarko, i don't go anymore in france, i always trek it down to italy. first one i did in France was Fos-sur-mer for NY. it was also my last one.
the french police give you a real hard time now.

but italy's great. police don't give a shit (not like in france). was in pavia in 05 and 07, milan area also in 06. ive only ever seen one british crew there (was last year in pavia), did mostly dnb, was pretty heavy. they had the heaviest bass i've ever heard.

my bf's best mate is TPSF, and we've gone done with him mostly. travelled with Metek as well, they are wicked people. real old skool travellers. nicest people i've ever met.

otherwise, serox, what's your soundsystem called. maybe i've seen you at teknival before or en teuf in france :)

edit: in case any of you interested in teknivals, here's a site for them around europe. it's also got some info on teufs and other raves. http://shockraver.free.fr/infoparty23.htm
