i dont know if that is really elitist, is it? i mean, if you're a dj and a producer aren't you kind of supposed to understand that if you dont start a mix at the beginning of the measure, then it won't mix in the traditional sense?
i think if someone asked that in real life there would be some laughs if asked to people that know. i mean, have you been mixing out like this? i personally would fall on the ground laughing if someone mixed out like that on purpose. i guess im an elitist, but wouldnt you in your logic be an elitist for saying:

I mean really, who are you to say that selection trumps mixing, what if i were to say i prefer a matched mix of two records i dont like as much. whatever, im not trying to be a bastard, i just think that you could be a little quick to try calling someone out. Call me an elitest, but in this case, because dude ia a self proposed dj and producer -- just like Alex bkbk's original post implied: you ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer.

why answer at all then?
if you are just going to reply foolishly?

it must feel good to try and margianlize someones sklills based on him asking a question?especially when you probabbly dont know the dude.
do you know struggle personally?

its obvious he was asking a question, that may not have been posing him a problem, but something he was curious how other djs where doing. is it really anyones job to put someone down for that?

What's going on here... We all like the music we listen, produce or mix and then this hating about someone who's just asking a simple and fully understandable question! Stop it! Are you all scared that he might be a better dj in future than you? My god...

Its truer than you know mate.

Back in the day do you think reggae/blue beat/ska Djs worried about crap like how to mix something into something? No. They only had ONE DECK. If you're worried about this sort of technical crap, go and play techno.

Damn people love to throw around words like hater and elitist.

Maybe i'm confused or didnt read the post correctly.

I just thought every dj who has played at least one set out should know you mix records from the beginning of a measure - not the middle.

Im a hater?

Just joshing around with the guy.

Chill out peeps, you dont have to be everyones personal internet body guard if someone has a laugh.
