3024-003

a) martyn - natural selection (flying lotus' cleanse mix)
b) martyn - vancouver (2562's puur natuur dub)

This third installment on Martyn's 3024 imprint introduces Flying Lotus and 2562 to the label. Both have taken on a track from 3024-002 to remix in their signature styles.
In Flying Lotus' live sets, fans have been able to spot dubstep tracks from the likes of Kode9, Ikonika and Martyn, so it was only a matter of time before FlyLo himself would get on the 140bpm beats. In his "Cleanse" mix he takes the original elements through the wringer and squeezes out a deadly monster of a tune carried by a big moving bass line and odd synths. Meanwhile, dutch top chef 2562 took the Vancouver samples, boiled them, put them through a strainer and threw the remaining shards of sound in a bowl of warm bass, garnishing it all with a light hi-hat driven beat. The result is a haunting minimal roller for the early morning hours.
As 3024 represents music for the ears as well as for the eyes, Erosie brings his unique graphic style to the table, making this release another collector's item. Enjoy.

"This is the end of dubstepno - and the beginning of sexystep" (3024Bot)

Out in the shops mid-October.

to clarify, it's the first tune on the player i'm really on about.

flyinglotus robertaflackrmx..

is the original a martyn tune then?

so so so good

EDIT: after checking his myspace, i realise it's a martyn remix of flying lotus - tea leaf dancers... :U:

Serious music. Martyn's mix on the Mary Ann Hobbs show still gets regular rotation at my gaff.

Getting Erosie to do the artwork is quality as well - big up all SOL crew, Netherlands represent!

Gonna be an essential purchase, like the previous 2 3024s. And one more to come b4 the end of the year!! Nice one for making them available in digital stores too.

word, this release is an utterly essential purchase, both remixes are undoubtly top noch but the 2562 is too much.

Amazing stuff, out to 3024 each and every time... oh and yeah... the design work is always very very good.
Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full with what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, and a voice was screaming:
Holy Jesus. What are these goddamn animals?
