How to get a delay repeat to speed up?
Hey guys,
I am using ableton and I have a few delay options...
I am trying to have a way to repeat some audio over and over when I trigger the effect, and have a way to turn a knob or somehting to speed up the repeating, know what I mean?
Any ideas how to do this?

using the simple delay.. first make sure you change both the 'sync' boxes to 'time'.. all you have to do is click them to achieve this.. then just as you would assign something to a knob (by clicking the box in the top right of the screen labeled 'midi') assign the box with the time in milliseconds to the knob / fader you want to use, you can assign both of them to the same knob or seperate depending on what you feel is best.. id probably stick with both on the same but you can create some interesting pong like delays if you seperate them... once youve assigned them all you have t do is click the midi button again and your good to go...
one thing to add just incase, make sure the delay times for the left and right are the same before you assign them or they will stay out, unless thats what your going for..
easy

oh and alternatvely.. although this probably isnt as good, you could have your audio looping and whilst it is go to the sample display screen and click the :2 or *2 buttons so speed or slow your sample.. you cant assign this to a knob and it doesnt work very smoothly but it may give you something to work with.. and bear in mind that you will have to have warp enabled to use this function and it needs to be recorded in... sorry if this is useless, i use logic more than ableton nowdays...

hah i have a space echo aswell
its sick as fuck
one other thing you could do is to bounce your loop down at differant tempos and use the follow function in the live window to get each one to come in for however long you want it then switch to the next one sequentially.. if its for like a drop or something cus thatd work better than delays if its just looping your doing.. might be a little hard to explain though.. i mean like loop functions on cd decks
