i think you def need some structure to your sets and you gotta have a 'base' sound. i wouldn't be cutting between the two sounds every tune its kinda more like a long breakdown before the next one drops.
you gotta pick the right tunes though for sure. you couldn't go from a really dubby musical tune into 'down' kinda thing but martyn is def the kind of stuff that works for me.
Selection is part of the art - gotta think a few tunes ahead, lay a path/join the dots!

If you have a limited budget - buy the tunes you will also like in a year from nowadisize wrote: do you buy records in the one style you want to DJ (e.g. hard and evil, garagey etc.) or do you buy from all styles?
problem is im on a limited budget and never know what to die - so should i focus on one style or carry on buying all styles just the tracks i like?
