im going to go with a new argument, ketamine is ruining dubstep for me. its caused me to be pretty much unaware of how good some nights really were. gosh darnit!

ppl can take wot ever the fuck they like at a rave, as long as they are able to skank and do so. if u cant skank cos ur too fucked, then u need to just get out the way cos ur just killin the vibes.

at the last DMZ i had a couple of beers and a couple of zoots and i raved solidly til alittle past 6am...in all honesty i could have skanked all night without any substance to enhance my experience because the music was really all i NEEDED...the djs were good, the music was good...

i saw many others on the same level as me in there...skanking hard and enjoying the vibes...but obviously i saw some individuals who were swaying like zombies and i smelt that horrible stink that people who have been doing ketamine give off...(don't know if it's just me who notices this...maybe i'm the one going mad...)

also one of my mates was seriously struggling to have a good time and kept saying 'i just can't get into it'....at first i was alittle confused as he loves dubstep...buys and collects vinyl, mixes at home, stays up to date with the scene and has had many good nights out raving to it...then i realised it was the first time in ages that he was out at a rave and wasn't on something (not ket usually in his case he loves his mdma but you know same difference really...) i found this very depressing...it basically means he is incapable of having a good night out unless he has taken something stronger than a couple beers/zoots...

after awhile he was seriously starting to piss me off...he was just standing there on the dancefloor or outside smoking...

BUT...and here is my main point...i carried on raving, ignored him and had an absolutely amazing night...basically anything drug related depends on the individual...some people NEED that shit to have a good time and drugs are a huge part of the music world whether people like to admit it or not...but it will only ruin the music if you let it...the majority of people there that night were there for the right reasons and IMO because you are never going to stop the drug needs of others you can only do one thing...simply ignore it...

saturated their raving experience with too much dizzle that they cant even enjoy it witout any. dats air.

bud and alcohol give me a siiick buzz for raving. corse being on dizzle would be another level up, but alcohol and weed are more than enuff stimulant to enhance my experience.

i really dont understand why people take ket when they are out clubbing, it makes you completely unsociable and at least to me anyway, it makes me paranoid as hell and I cant do anything on it. I've never had a great experience on ket, just a few fairly funny times when ive taken it at peoples houses, and even then it often descended in paranoia/whiteying at some point. I cant combine it with drink at all and the taste when it drips down your throat is truly heinous.
i cant really see the appeal, and i know so many people that take far too much of the horrible stuff and they are seriously addicted to it. All they are about is where they can get their next ketamine deal from and how much they can bash in one night.
I think as a recreational drug under the right circumstances it can be fun, but the cons outweight the pros so much for me thats its not even a choice. I would much rather take some amphetamines and be running around buzzing.

Serious note though: I agree that one drug can't really bring down a genre, but if loads of DJ's start using it before playing out there is certainly gonna be a problem

I think as long as a person isn't annoying or dangerous when they are on drugs they should do what they want, so long as they dont ruin or disturb anyone elses night. Thats just my view though. I've had some embarrising encounters with DJs and producers when I've been a little worse for where (not on ketamine though I might add)

Yes, but I've noticed people tanked up at raves and acting like complete stnuc. I've also seen people on speed going completely fuckign crazy and shouting. It's all subjective.
