Are we talking about regular bpm or halfstep?

If halfstep - Te La Rok's Codein is an enourmous banger (at 190 bpm).

cum on you lot if you made some decent beats at 140bpm you wouldn't need to move 150 bpm

either do it and shut up

or

just make good music

and stop tryna be wastemen

pretty damn sick bassline, the track could be phatter tho with different claps or accented claps or just something more interesting in the drums. :P

makes me pissed i dont have a controller to make my own basslines i gotta rely on arpegiators or samples.

also that cut out with the voices should either have some drums stay in it or ditch it til the end? not sure what u were goin for with that.

In particular...

https://rave.nu-hosting.net/index.php?_ ... ductId=207

and

https://rave.nu-hosting.net/index.php?_ ... ductId=232

Both tracks influenced by Dubstep.

We call it Hardcore Breaks / Nu-Rave (not the NME shit). J-Tek are also involved to a degree. The idea is to make music with a bit of that oldskool Hardcore / Jungle thing about it, with modern sounds and influences thrown in. Usually this is between 135 and 155bpm. It started on the forum at http://www.backtotheoldskool.com/forum.htm and was originally just about making 'new' oldskool tunes but of course it progressed.

There is no reason why you should always make Dubstep at 140 or Dnb at 174 or whatever. There is no reason why your tunes should be a big 6 minute loop of the same thing with slight tweaks every 16 bars either. The time when dance music had the most energy is the time when tunes were all over the place - between 1990 and 1994.

So, whose gonna make some Dubstep with oldskool hardcore stab sections and stuff as well as lots of bass? We'd love to hear it.

I dunno like. DnB seems to have lost it's way in the search for faster bangers. Im all about slowing it riiiiiggght down. 130 Dubstep to mix with Funky is the way for me
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.

like the big bass drum and the sample befor the drop if big. imo there to mutch low end distortion on the bass but that might just be myspace.

good tune

i think this speed is just the next step. to sort of counter the funkier side thats coming it as its slower than the typical 140.

ive started making some tunes that are around 145-150 and the speed is sick. not a production pro but check em out
