Socially acceptable?????
Who cares !!!!!!!
Ketamine and smack are best enjoyed together. I suggest Intravenous as route of ingestion.
Look out for me at the next rave. Not only will I bump into you and spill your beer, I'll also blow chunks on your trainers.
Smoke 'em if ya got em

I think as long as a person isn't annoying or dangerous when they are on drugs they should do what they want, so long as they dont ruin or disturb anyone elses night. Thats just my view though. I've had some embarrising encounters with DJs and producers when I've been a little worse for where (not on ketamine though I might add)
Tbh I'm not going to go around like some dubstep Mary Whitehouse telling other people what they should or should not be taking For The Good Of The Scene or whatever. But I'm going to prefer clubs where people are on generally the same vibe as me, and if I'm going to clubs where everyone's monged on ket or off their nuts on speed or getting czech neck on cake or whatever then it could be a fairly crap night even if noone's actually falling all over me. It's nice to have the community vibe, the sense that you've got a club full of like minded people feeling the music
together. So yeah people can take what they like but I don't have to like it...
It's like going to a night where everyone stands round at the bar and doesn't dance. Noone's suggesting that the bouncers should go out and force people onto the floor (well, maybe...) but it's not something you want to see more of either.

[quote="bootystep"]ok, so i dont post on this forum enough to know if this is going to be a repost (apologies if so)... but i've been around in Dubstep to know that this is a serious issue.
I went to a 'dubstep night' tonight, that was incredibly mediocre.... my mates that used to take the piss out of me for listening to dubstep were really bored by the music until the K man turned up (with a polo ring around his face). Up until this point they wouldnt have been dancing, but as soon as K was in the equation suddenly it made their night go round....
I could no longer have a convo with them, and the dj was incapable of putting tunes together, but somehow this solidarity of confusion made them want to dance... this really disturbs me.
I remember a time when i could say to people "dubstep isnt about drugs, its about the music", but to the masses this has clearly changed
Is Ketamine to blame for this, or is it a case of the massess wanting to get off their nut, and ketamine delivering?
Personally, I want to go to a night where people appreciate the tunes... Its not a night of mediocre production, mixing and promotion.... but it is a room full of like minded people wanting to tickle their pancreas! Has the spirit of dubstep been lost on the masses through ketamine? Or am I a lone soldier that attempts to see through the bass?
Your thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated x[/quote
fuck me son.... thanks for the life story.

It's not the drug, it's the one who use/abuse it.
I don't know if it's a good or bad thing, but personally, I wouldn't know how to dance the way I do if it wasn't for my K/MDMA/LSD trips (separately or combined). In fact, I may never have felt in love with dancing if it wasn't for the first time I took some E and put some psytrance on.
Yes, Ketamine can be a very dangerous drug if used too frequently or in the wrong context with the wrong dose (...having a K-Hole in a rave isn't really apropriate). But it can be very pleasurable in small doses, especially with dubstep and lots of bass.
Sure, it makes you introverted...But I prefer someone who get entranced in his body and mind than a drunken moron moshing all around and shouting (it happened to me a week ago...the guy even pushed me in the woods without even noticing...)

This made me lol.
Anyway, like alot of other people have said, there are plenty of dubstep nights in Bristol to choose from and tbh from what i've experienced it's mainly the really huge ones like Subloaded that have any drug occurance in them. But still that shouldn't ruin your night, if there's some idiot prangnin' out next to you (whether they're on drugs or not) then just simply move and skank somewhere else. Everyone goes to a dubstep rave for the same reason and that's because they love the music.
No amount of ketamine will change that.

Just thought that I'd say...
I was one of Bootystep's mates who was on K. I was also high as a kite, and pissed on Sailor Jerry's. I was having a really good time.
I thought the DJs were pretty good. AFAIK NONE of the DJs were on K, I think this concern has been miscontrued from the OP. There were some technical itches, espesh when one of the needles broke 4 tunes into one DJs set. The DJs smashed it until the end.
Considering it was free to get in, I don't think there's any need to complain about it.

Over here in canada K is becoming quite popular, especially in the raver crowd. I never even heard of anyone sellin it till like 2 years ago and now its big in my town. I dont mind indulging on the rare occasion, but its deff not something i would do regulary. I dont know how bad the coke usage is over there but here its what ruins alot of the shows/parties(fuckin cokeheads

) not the K heads.
just ignore the kids all fucked up on K and focus on the tunes.

thats kind of what I mean by some one ruining your night, even if they dont directley affect you. f I see someone slumped in a corner with sick down their front its going to put the night in a different light. Its the same with a fight, no one has to hit you but it still puts a real downer on the night. The comunity feel of a night is one of the best things about a dubstep night, its good to have a room full of people all loving the same thing

LOLz read the first post and thought is she from Bristol...
As many of the heads from Bristol already posted in here know, it is rife at some nights but I wouldnt say it ruins the music or the night, just makes me laugh at the people who want to do it.
If you want to do it fair enough, give it 3 years of decent abuse and you've crystalised your insides you wont be raving anymore, or will it be groups of people dancing round there colostomy bags in 2012...
Horses for courses innit, been around for years just having a renaissance right now, generation K....

To be honest, it's just a shame that people that are just there for the drugs are taking someone else's place, when that person could love the music and want to be there solely for that reason. Fair enough if you use the drugs to supplement the experience, but think of the dubstep lovers!

Iv always felt that dubstep is a major genre where people actually do appreciate the music wen its live, every night iv been to you can tell that everyone is there for one reason and thats to appreciate the music, but then again my mates dont take k so your situ is kinda diff.
And i have to force my mates to give dubstep a go, none of them get it and start to get bored as the night goes on. so i sometimes go alone this saves the whole can we go now or can we go somehwre els now.
