whoa!! are u talkin to me? i'm trying to be civilized here, trying to openly speak my mind, because that's what i'm used to doing on public forums. please rethink exactly who it is that's spreading hate by calling people whining imbeciles and angsty stnuc! i'm assuming ur immune to moderation on here for political reasons, so i hope i can appeal directly to your sense of decency and logic: please refrain from personal insults, defamation, and all general hate-mongering... for the sake of everyone!stanton wrote:... [some 1984 shit]....
do i know you? or you me? and what was it again they say about assumptions.... ?stanton wrote:ARE YOU FUCKING MENTAL, what the fuck have any of you done for any scene that even comes close to being as important as what these people have done?
it really comes down to one thing.... and that one thing is the reason why the analogy of the day award goes to sapphic_beats:
no one questions the work involved in moderating a 2000000-user forum. but nobody is holding a gun to anyone's head. if a mod doesn't want the job, then - if anything - the past few days have shown that there are plenty of ppl with enough initiative to do it. they may bitch about it later, but a community this strong in numbers should always be able to divide the work amongst responsible, eager-to-help members... for the benefit of everyone."appreciate us or we're taking our ball and going home." mature. really.
and of course, i can't demand a thing from anyone. i don't. i do however appreciate a bit of honesty and transparency. without it i don't know what to expect.... and it could well be that the work *I* have put into this place by posting dates, mixes, radio archives, technical commentary/advice and reviews, will all turn out to have been in vain! ... i'd hate to see that happen. .... again. .... and however indefinitely.

maybe we've never been about making money. maybe music and making money aren't a happy marriage.Misk wrote:maybe you should figure out how to make some money then.seckle wrote:the forum has been offline for about 8 days in 3 years. thats 8 out of 1095. websites 10 times as big as ours don't have that kind of record, and we're all volunteers here. unpaid.
Scared the crap outta me TBH!
I sort of know how the Mods feel...I moderate on a forum that's now got 25,000+ members and 3,000,000+ posts. You can't avoid people harking back to the "good old days" before all the trash-talking newbies turned up. Sadly, it's unavoidable, as forums tend to grow and grow (if they're any good, of course
)
I appreciate all your work, for real

Glad the site's back--and cheers for the birthday mix.
I haven't posted here much, but I have lurked here quite a bit. I'm a little confused as to why such a massive site would have so few moderators. Another forum of comparable size that i post on regularly has easily five times the number of moderators. If it's too much work, then I'm sure that there are plenty of reliable people here who would happily step up to lighten the burden. Happy birthday, nonetheless.
