there's nothing wrong or impossible into liking almost every genre out there, but i guess it's how you say it. however, music is overrated, people tend to label other people based on what music they like. sure it's one side of your personality, but i have met truly amazing people, smart and funny, that wouldnt give a damn straight fuck about music and would listen to shitty pop or smth like that.

however, i wouldn't know how to react if the answer to "what kind of music are you into?" would be "uhhh... bread and ham sandwiches" :D

ps: i listen to a lot of genres and actually this is what i find normal. variety! how would it be like to watch only horror movies or to enjoy only cubist paintings?

yeah i suppose so, i wouldn't go off on one like "yeah dubstep skwee hiphop etc." and rattle off a huge essay!

Precisely. I must say, calling someone 'boring' strikes me as being incredibly narrow-minded.
And, to be honest, I don't think giving a generic answer to the question "What music do you like?" or having one filling in your sandwich really justifies calling someone boring. In fact, when I ask someone what music they like, some people respond with off-the-wall and darn right bazaar genres which makes me think they're trying way too hard. And if I was making a sandwich for someone and they said they preferred theirs BOILED with a side order of PENGUIN, I'd call them a tnuc.

at the end of the day who really cares. pointing out why other people are boring/this/that is just another way of indirectly reassuming your own perceived 'superior' characteristics and 'good' taste.
even if its true that they are boring, bringing it up to them or others isnt gonna do anything. people dont bring it up so the 'boring' person can learn to not be boring. they bring it up to make themselves feel interesting in comparrison....which is a bit lame but the majority of people do this in one form or another. be humble.

i actually find it more boring when people are like "i only listen to..."

or they are not open to listening to other music...

or eating different sandwiches. lets say you really like ham sandwiches...one day lets switch it to turkey...that would be a cause for celebration :D

Agreed. I've noticed throughout the years that many hiphop heads seem to be like that.

Well this is basically what I said. Alot of people I meet at gigs retort with answers like "Progressive math metal" or "Concrete". I don't even know what them fucking genres are.
Fuck, I don't even know what progressive means.

Progressive means there is more of a journey to the music, its usually abit longer, and isn't the same old INTRO SYNTH SYNTH SYNTH WOB WOB WOB BLEEERGH SYNTH SYNTH DROP SYNTH WOB WOB WOB BLERGH OUTRO.

You mean it's more like; WUB, WUB, WU-BUB-BUB....WU-BUB BOO...DING-A-LING......SHME-DA-BEE-BOB.?

In that case, I hate progressive.

The thought of an LFO filter used in progressive house would be like a jewish man going to christian church on a sunday morning.
