Anybody got 10 mins to help me out! :P
If anyone has a mac with ableton 7, and AAS Ultra Analog installed i could really do with some help.
Baisically i need someone to open up my project, hopefully the Ultra Analog patch will load and you would be able to burn down the bass line and send it back to me.
In return i may be able to offer an invite to broken stones (mac only torrent site)
If not my eternal gratitude and bucket load of wub
safe safe

i also spend a large amount of time and money on software and hardware. You know almost nothing about me, good people help others out regardless, thats what i think anyway. I only offered the invite by way of giving something in return, i really didn't think it would offend anyone and for that i'm sorry. As for the merits of file sharing that is another debate completely.
people are very anal about money on here. the whole taboo on piratedrkovorkian wrote:i also spend a large amount of time and money on software and hardware. what point exactly are you trying to make here?drkovorkian wrote:why buy logic at all when you could buy software from people that don't give themselves multimillion dollar bonuses for selling far too many people sub standard electronic goods?
you should buy your sequencer to support the people that make it and ensure that its future development is possible.
logic are owned by apple... so i'm sure they desperately need the £300 for each unit soldjames fox wrote:what point exactly are you trying to make here?drkovorkian wrote:why buy logic at all when you could buy software from people that don't give themselves multimillion dollar bonuses for selling far too many people sub standard electronic goods?

The point I'm making is torrents (in relation to software sequencers / VST's etc) are not the devil reincarnated! Companies like Digi Design and Apple are rip off merchants and some people can't afford to get them legally.
So chill winston. Who says you or any other consumer can judge people who torrent (excluding admins on this forum, and the copyright lawyers.)
i know that apple own logic. the point being that if every schmoe out there torrents it, profits disappear, apple pull the plug. simpleJunglist wrote:logic are owned by apple... so i'm sure they desperately need the £300 for each unit soldjames fox wrote:what point exactly are you trying to make here?drkovorkian wrote:why buy logic at all when you could buy software from people that don't give themselves multimillion dollar bonuses for selling far too many people sub standard electronic goods?

and how is logic a rip off? it's ridiculously cheap for what it is!
btw i'm not saying i've never fractured a copyright law here and there. just that people need to recognise that their actions have consequences.
(i'm out of this thread now, dead horse and all)

i dont know how u guys feel about this, but let me put something 2 u
when you pay for ALL of your software, you are limiting your choice.
in doing this you are focussing your attentions on a select few plugins
therefore it stands to reason that you will gain a better understanding of the plugins, a more specific understanding. not a general understanding of many. also, if you have paid for something out of your own pocket, you are obliged to yourself to study it and understand it. eventually you will have a situation where you can work much more precisely and quickly. you will know which plugin to draw for in specific situations rather than being flooded with options which you only know basically.
i'm not saying you can't do this when you download, but when you do download there is the risk of simply downloading absolutley everything and then being completley overrun with the amount of choice and ending up having a broad rather than specific knowledge. and i think that in music it can always be said that the specifics and details are at the heart rather than the broad and general.

x2. I often infringe laws to do with warez. However don't download everything under the sun. And have infact spent over a grand on audio hardware/software in 1.5 years of production. However I think we can all agree that torrents are not going to cause the end of software companies.james fox wrote:very well said!drifterman_ wrote:i dont know how u guys feel about this, but let me put something 2 u
