i'm only messing..when I was here @ Uni it used to be a squatter haven..they've pretty much bulldozed that and put up a load of new builds..

It's still got some of the highest incidence of gun crime in the UK though..

The arch is a quality bar..esp when Dom from Blood & Fire used to play there..the Thai opposite is really good as well..

Can't count the no of times i've staggered home through the subways round the back..never felt particularly wary..Always fun winding up out of towners about it though..

also, whoever was talking about NC - do you know a small town called Waynesville? spent the dullest summer ever there one year.
I've vaguely heard of it, it's towards the coast if i'm not mistaken? I've lived here for like 18 years, tells you how small/boring it must be if I've only vaguely heard of it. Sorry you had to spend a summer there. Ew.

CLT is lovely though - if you're ever around gimme a ring and I'll show you around :D.
why thank you! i just worked out i have actually been to CLT during that trip - went for the day with my dad (i was 15) to see Neil Young and Spiritualized on the 'HORDE tour' (there wasn't much else to do):

still it would be nice to see it properly. :) maybe some of us london heads should go on a dubstep road trip across the US calling on everyone from the forum along the way...

that'd be hot - dubstep is slowly gaining ground in NC, there's a few events (hopefully) in the works and it's slowly being integrated into the dnb nights here... it's taking over!

I'd be up for hosting some london heads, just let me know the particulars and give me some notice :D

Oh, and make sure it doesn't conflict with my trip back to the UK next summer ;) I'll for sure be posting up here about that, aiming to make it more of a "go everywhere in the UK that I didn't get to go when I lived there - plus visit all my friends in Bristol + London while i'm there" trip than anything else - wicked!

yes. qualify for an HSMP visa, and as soon as I'm done that and it's not killing my career (and finances) to move back, i'm UK-bound :) either London or Bristol, depends on where offers me a job I want (could be either by that point!)

I'm visiting next summer for sure, if not sooner.
