You've got to cut people a bit of slack in the dubplate culture. How many white labels do you own that don't have cleared samples for example. I bet you don't start accusing the artist of breaking the law etc.

swings and roundabouts init.

ok heres my question...

if i wanted to do a radioshow highlighting all the radioshows would my route have to be asking about whether or not i can play radioshows that were "released"? it seems that they are released out for free, i mean, i havnt read the license agreements of websites but....

it's a fine line IMO.

because honestly i thought that would be kind of cool for my area.

kind of like dubstep news?

Fair enough, but other people see it differently. If you want other people to respect your way of seeing it, you should in turn respect the other way - and given that they produced the tune and chose not to release it, I think their feelings are pretty clear.

It bugs me when I don't have a tune, but still. What can you do? Just be zen and wait as patiently as a tree.

Also, dude - 39 is not old. It's nice when you find out you've introduced someone to something cool though, eh!

i need to read a book on the history of the origins of this "culture".

not growing up in a club/dj/dancemusic type of setting leaves me a bit lost sometimes.

you can highlight them by telling people where they can download the shows not by playing them on your show.

You're doing something positive so keep at it! Just bare in mind that some people may disagree with what you done. It's down to you whether you take that feedback on board or carry on regardless.

i am not saying that i am or will be playing radioshows on my radioshow. ez. just that ONE track is all i have played.

yea i am saying it would be polite to ask the person if they felt comfortable with playing a clip of their show and shouting it out.

not everyone can listen to and download tons of radioshows all week but would like to catch up on a few things, highlight mixes that dj's pulled off etc. ??

 the whole argument here is based on my belief that DMZ vs MZN is the most amazing track on earth and should be heard by everyone in america IMMEDIATELY. respect due to mala and that but was it an actual song that he remixed or is this an original vocal?

hahah 39 is old kinda tho cmon.... sorry old guys.

You can still play released records, cds and mp3s, right?

If you absolutely want to play bits of other people's radioshows, you should definitely ask them first. If they say no (or don't respond), then you have to ask yourself - do I care? If not, then just go ahead and do what you want, but you have to understand that most people look down on that sort of thing.

Also, it's probably the case that playing a previously released radio show violates some statute.

i am wondering this.

i didnt post the mix up anywhere.

edit: i have seen this...
YOUR MIX WILL BE REMOVED IF...

-the moderator's or admin's receive complaints; or your thread generates complaints, in regards to unauthorized tunes being used in your mix. when we mean "unauthorized" we mean an unreleased tune that you clearly don't have permission to play out.

-the audio sources for your mix are obviously "ripped" audio. what we mean by "ripped" audio is using previously broadcasted radio archives or youtube/myspace/facebook clips as part of your mix.

39 isn't old if you're 39+... I thought 14 year olds were old when I was 9.
