Dontt get a travelcard then Ash, ask the jobsworth at East Croydon for a monthly season ticket between East Croydon and London Bridge and it should be cheaper then, according to national rail anyway.
Either way, finding that info out has meant the last hour has flew by.

Virgin Trains are currently my Public Transport stnuc of the Year - they've got this scam going on where they make about half the train first class, so obviously the second class carriages become massively overcrowded, and then offer an upgrade to first class for 15 quid. So basically they're saying "we've deliberately screwed up the capacity of this train to leave you the choice of paying us more or standing up for three hours in an overcrowded aisle." That takes some neck.Ashley wrote:Try catching the bedford train and climbing a wall made from suitcases just to get on the fucking thing.pk- wrote:if you buy a weekly or monthly one it's the same price whenever you buy it, but if you buy a single or a return or whatever during the peak hour then that's how they rinse you for cash. the stnuc.Serox wrote:not 100% sure how it works in different areas. Weird, I thought it was just done on length rather than at what time of day, I get a weekly to Clapham Junction and I pay the same rate regardless of what time I travel.
What a bunch of tossers. They know you have to get that train and charge whatever they want.
Sick of the prices going up when they feel like it.
the jubilee line between canary wharf & london bridge during rush hour is like travelling down the devil's arsehole
But yeah, having lived in Not London for quite a long time I still think of it as the fucking promised land as far as public transport goes. I mean, even if you only use the buses it's still cheaper (on a PAUG Oyster card), more flexible, and more reliable than anywhere I've lived in the UK...

I travel from Folkestone to King's Cross every day, which is just over 2 hours
. £100 a wk travelcard (can never afford a monthly and 4get about the season (£4000), besides i can't predict my employment status for a whole year, i can't usually keep a job for that long.
Thankfully my office is a doss house so i arrive late and leave early, the piccadilly line's not that bad, and the train's almost empty at Folkestone. I get one of the nice extra-legroom disabled seats every morning.

I don't poo in the mornings and currently wear gloves to work due to the coldness. I wash my hands even if I just take a piss which requires the use of a couple of fingers and a thumb and thats about it.
Just because you wear gloves doesnt mean your clean, you still have to touch stuff, them faeces bacteria is probly pon ya face right now

Train straight to Gatwick then change and off in another direction. I only go college 3 days a week too.Ashley wrote:Wtf? how far do you have to travel?ProLife wrote:My travel to college costs me £160 a month.
I been paying for it myself but its reached the point where some days I cant go as I cant afford it but the local education place say they will (probably) pay for my fares and reimburse anything I've already spent. Still waiting to hear from them though. I try bunking but get stung 90% of the time. Have amassed something like £130 in fines since I started college 5-6 weeks ago.
When I went college in Kentish town it was a joke..
Plumstead > London Bridge / Charring X > Kentishtown on the northern
What jarrs me is... If you get the northern.. the amount of people who get on at London Bridge to go to bank, when its a 10 minute walk
.
Luckily know its just a 180 bus for half hour

ok ok ok , i got one for ya... this will confuse the hell out of ya
* i travel from Seaford to worthing by train
* after 10 am cost = £4.60 with youngpersons railcard
* before 10 am cost £13.60 without youngpersons railcard
* before 10am cost with youngpersons railcard = £16
yep thats right, before 10am it is actually MORE expensive to use a youngpersons railcard as 'minimum fairs' apply. anyone ever heard of a minimum fair with a savercard being MORE then the price of a normal fair???
i'm confused.com and pissedoff.com too
