Ableton Live 6 in Beta

Post by elemental » Fri Jul 28, 2006 3:05 pm

Live 6 is now in Beta testing - I missed the 1st round, but hoping to get into round 2.

Looks proper sick!!!

New Sampler instrument with morphing filters and FM.
Racks where u can store VST effects chains, and control them from MIDI cc's.
And now supports dual core processors.. oh boy!

the new saturator is pure filth...

haven't used the sampler cos I don't wanna fall in love and then have to shell out however much for it at the end of the beta as well as the upgrade price, but I think everyone thats used it so far is really impressed.

operator has some new algorithms and new 24db filters, which for an instrument that was pretty sick to begin with is always nice.

oh, and if you have an automapping device like the novation sl 25 you'll be laughing when you click on an instrument rack and it automatically assigns the 8 macros to the 8 faders. And apparantly they've made their own version of the automap protocol for some other popular midi controllers.

and lastly it's pretty stable already... played out with it yesterday for a few hours without a single hitch. so yeah, it looks like the one.
