I was being sarcastic.

and I guess Nader is running independent this year.

The Green ticket is Cynthia McKinney and hip-hop activist Rosa Clemente.

equitable funding for third parties is one of the ways change might be brought about via traditional means - but IMO the system is so inherently flawed and entrenched that voting really doesn't have the same value that it once did.. especially in light of the rampant unaccountability and election corruption thats been going on the last 8 years.

This.

People think they are voting for a Change, like that is necessarily a good thing. It could always get worse, believe it or not. I think that Obama will probably spend 1 term in office with stupid high expectations, and then

I think it is quite revealing that a lot of Republicans are actually in support of Obama. Makes you wander why doesn't it.

Just imagine if Mccain wins, and it is CLEAR that he had no shot at winning. What would happen? Riots? Hell, I'll take to the streets in my bandana and baseball bat.

Fucking Mccain and his croney hockey mom were in my town talking shit about me not being a "real American" not 5 minutes from my house like 2 days ago.

And yeah, voting isn't really worth anything anymore. Cause in my book they both suck. A true worthy independant candidate NEEDS to appear on the screen more than ever. In America, 30% of the public are independent voters (me included). That means 30% of America clearly doesn't identify with either party. Doesn't that say something? Why doesn't THIS group have a party? WTF? Let's make one for real.

Obama is a better speaker for sure, and he's smart, but he isn't tackling the issues that really need to be taken. The government has to put every other nonsense issue aside, lock themselves in a room, and not come out until they figure these things out. We as a people should be demanding it.

And these fucking asshole talk show dingbats like Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, Glen Beck, Bill O'Reily, you name it, they are all hardcore partisan. They won't listen to anything outside of there stupid realm of partisan politics, they preach it to the masses, the masses listen to anything these dicks say, it sways the voter public, cause they won't research the issues themselves. All these guys do is increase the battle between the dems and repubs, in turn pulling them away from the real issues, and yelling about the other party instead... no where.

On another note: There hasn't been a real candidate for president since Kennedy, but more so Eisenhower, who was totally against the way we were becoming a nation built on the miilitary might, concluding how dangerous it is, check out his farewell speech.

trust me. im kidding about the arnold thing. i think hed make a good governor. not a good president. he has some good views. and some bad. thats how politicians work dont they? never fully OK or AMAZING. they can never cater to an entire HUGE country such as the US. theres just too many people. too many areas. too many classes. i mean. its impossible to make everyone happy which is why i really wish it would just be broken down into seperate countries.

and ps. about the arnold pic. it is disturbing. for who he is. in office. BUT i think its a sexy photo. i was posting it to be a typical chick. he looks like hes sitting back enjoyin something other than just that cigar

ok. on the real. education -college- that is, should NOT be fully free. theres no way that would work in this country. BUT it should not be anywhere as expensive as it is. the ivy league schools. fuck them. im not talking about them. im talkin about typical colleges state or community. they should be pretty much inexpensive. its unfair to rob the people of an education. what bc i cant afford school im stuck in this fuckin armpit of "middle class" or "lower class"? it takes a very smart person to be ranked there because just to make ends meet it takes ideas and hard work. its a constant struggle. but go to college and get a degree and oh boy things get easier. if i had a degree i know id be somewhere else. able to bring in more money. have a more serious job. and it just sucks most people suffer bc they just cant afford it.

then theres the healthcare thing. i think it should be free for people like most other countries. it SUCKS. i havent been to a doctor in yrs. being that i am also female. we cant miss apts. but ya know what, me and several women i know havent been able to afford regular check ups. or BC or a lot of other things we need. imagine having a kid with NO healthcare. i know theres help, but then you feel dumb and bad you need to be on WIC or welfare just bc the government makes it so damn expensive to pay for a regular doctor visit or hospital visit. its sickening.

we DO need someone who can relate to the typical average american.

the US has become this money hungry, debt consuming, horrible greedy nation that just doesnt even understand why we are where we are today. i work in the housing market and i see it all the time now. i was in credit cards for bank of america working customer service and saw a lot then too! people want more than they can afford. and think they dont have to pay it back. fuck them. seriously. fuck them. bc theyre ruining our future. and our kids future.

i should stop. this is all just personal opinion. i may or may not be right. but its just boredom coming out online. i like discussing this kind of stuff though....
Holy term paper batman :o

Universal health care is stupid. The reason the US has the best doctors is because there is incentive to work. And if you don't have health insurance, and you get shot, we still treat you. Actually by me Jackson Memorial takes the uninsured and they are an unbelievable hospital.

People talk about Canada and France, yet I know people in Canada that are still on the waiting list to see a doctor, and now they are bringing in doctors from overseas because all their good doctors keep going to US where they can make money.

I'm voting for Obama. Sarah Palin truely put me over the edge.

i wholeheartedly agree. operative word there is 'heart.' however, the idealistic and often romanticized notion of a revolution won't come because our voice as a constituency is weak and fragmented due to years of neglect, misrepresentation, and disenfranchisement. what's left in the wake is an overwhelming state of apathy. 'fuck it, nothing i do will make a difference.'

the closer we get to the election, the more i am convinced a vote is nothing more than just a leap of faith.

the republicans stole the last couple elections - they could do it this time if they wanted.

instead theyre pulling a carter. let the dems win and thenFUCK them hard. like Reagan paying the Iranians to hold onto the hostages until after the election. Opec price gouging etc. If youve watched farenhiet 911 you know how tight the bushies are with the house of saud. notice the price of oil falling just in time for the election.

with obama winning theyll bet agains the stock market and take it down. that Mad Money (popular american stock amrkert guru) dude said as much before he started advising everyone to get out of the market (he said to take out %20 or enough to live on for 5 years. hmmm. knowhatimsayin). total manipulation.

Werd.

Who wins the popular doesn't mean they are going to be president.

McCain is probably just laughing putting on a show and then at the end they'll fuck Obama over like Gore.

Plus I'm pretty sure poling doesn't "pole" the redneck fucks.

Well, there is universal healthcare in Austria and it works very well.. I'm sure we have doctors that are just as good as in the US... And it feels nice to go to a doctor not having to think I can't afford this..

First, Austria is a lot smaller than the US.

Second, your doctors and advances in health care aren't nearly what the US has. People from all over the world fly to the US for our doctors. Not because the US is special, but because the doctors come here because they can make the most money.

The trouble isn't when you have the flu, its when you have cancer.

The trouble with the US going to universal healthcare is it would also hurt other contries too, who have gained a lot of their medical technology from us...also spurred from the ability of our doctors to make money for their hard work.

Start voting Green I say.
Might take awhile but it does create a third choice.
Australian Capital Territory (equivalent to Washington DC) elections, just held, have resulted in Greens having balance of power...that's taken over 20 years but you've gotta start somewhere e.g.

Meanwhile Obama will win and taxes will have to be raised to pay off the huge US debt incurred from wars and consumerism. Obama wants to get most of it off the obscenely wealthy, as he should, after all they're the ones who have profited from military spending.

I hope statesiders give scepticism the flick and start making individual and collective efforts en masse to turn things around, starting with hunting down graft and corruption.

If you can't get off your butts for anything outside your immediate self-interest, how about making an effort to get rid of druglords and their insidious influence by pushing for decriminalization?

Um, maybe some. Others just worked hard. They still pay more than 70% of our taxes as it is.

With respect bro',
a lot of septics have been brainwashed into believing the rich are justified because of their efforts.
Tell that to the poor sods working their arses off in laundries, factories, building sites, nursing homes.
The free-enterprise, right-to-disproportionate-wealth, is the root cause of US current demise, delayed for 50 years by military action. Time to reassess imo. Doesn't mean hating or revenge either because, after all most of you/us want/ed to be the rich ones.
Share the wealth I say, starting with our own countries.
